Ok, I used an AOL email adress, and it worked fine. Though the download is going like 5-10 kb/s....is that normal?

Are you downloading via bittorrent or requiem's FTP server?

If you're using BT and this is your first time using it, then yes slow speeds are normal for about 15-30 minutes. BT thrives on sharing. As you upload, you're establishing relationships with seeders (others who have the file you want).  The more you give, the higher priority your requests get from the seeders. BT is a set-it-and-forget-it type of client.  It's not always fast, but it is very reliable.

If you are using Requiem's FTP, then no that is awful speed.  I downloaded the client Thursday, the night the game went public which should have been an extremely busy download time and my speed was consistently 220kb/ps.  If you're downloading from a mirror site, try a different one.

The speeds you're getting are consistent with dialup.

I have very high speed internet...not dial up. I am using the ftp server, because bittorent sucks up the bandwith for the other users in my house.,I have been getting 10 kb/s for about 2 hours now...

Honestly, I'd suggest cutting your losses and try another server. Go to Gamershell and pick a server that has high transfer speed, is near your location and has low usage (green bar). 

Note: If you try the above and do not see significant download speed increases, try taking a walk to see what others are doing on your shared network (who's hogging all the bandwidth?).

WOW thanks, I did the ones with the green bars and I'm getting like 120 kb/s now! Not fantastic...considering I usually get about 1 meg/sec..but it's way better then 10! Thanks man, I was using the orange and red bars in USA and was getting crap. WIth the green in europe it's way faster. Life saver! Since I really wanted to try out this game!
