Well i like korean grinders, played L2 since ob. Figured its time to try something new, and i missed getting a key for this..

Guess even fileplanet realized how bad the game was and removed the keys. Oh, well.

There were only so many keys that fileplanet and MMORPG had to give away, once those keys were given out then that was it for the invites from my understanding.

I think I saw somewhere on Fileplanet an announcement that stated the keys were for american players only (maybe that's why some ppl complained about not being able to get one, who knows). Anyway, on their website Requiem has more than 25.000 downloads...to me that's a lot...quite surprising  !

Actually, i think it was mmorpg.com that only gave thier keys to NA ppl. think mmosite did to. only fileplanet that gave to everyone ( that was on time  >< )..  idk, maybe im mixin them up...

  Anyway, really want a key, busted my arm, home from work a month, bored as hell

I really enjoyed L2 as well, and think you will find this game a lot of fun.

Closed beta is supposed to end 3/26, with open beta following.

From what i've seen and read, this game will fit me really good.  Its installed and i got an account, im just one little key away from getting ingam :)

If you like L2 then I suggest just sticking to that.  This game is nothing more then a stripped down version of L2.  Basicly reskined and with out all the good bits that make L2 special.  The community is by far the worst Ive ever seen.

Not saying it dosnt have its moments, the grafics are nice and they should be there ripped of L2 but not as good as L2.  The skill system is nice, agian ripped off L2.  I thought the horror idea would be diffrent but its not; its just L2 with more blood and darker graffix textures and the only thing scary if the fact that the "adults" that play this game are ruder, more ingorant and petier then and game community Ive ever seen.

I had some fun playing this game but it just dosnt cut it as a long term game.  I probably would have stuck it out longer but the community is just incredable awfull.  If this is what playing a game with 17+ is like then Id rather play with 16 and under kids.  There are plenty other L2 clones out there that are F2P, if you cant get a key for this CB its no loss just try one of the other L2 re-skins

There are significant differences between Requiem & L2.  Keep in mind, I love L2.    Requiem has fluid WASD movement, making the interface and game just feel better.   Mobs in Requiem drop gear; not .00034% like in L2.    There is a DNA system, allowing for alterning characters and discovering new skills.        Yes, there are similarities, but that is true of just about every MMO to varying degrees, but it definately is its own game, and btw, there is no monthly fee.

I agree about the community, or at least the vocal jerks in chat, probably the minority but can be annoying none the less.     Not sure it was really any better at L2 beta, but with release and subscription charge, it did seem to improve.      One thing though, a screen shot and ticket will get abusers banned from the game; and while there may be ways around that if ones IP changes, to create new accounts, folks are not going to want to lose their characters over and over again by getting accts. banned.    Chat should improve.

i like l2 yeah, but time has come to move on, 4 years++ is enough, most friends have moved on long time ago. 

Im not looking for a whole new experiance.  I just wanna b newb again in a game, with all the other newbs. And so far what i've seen, reuiem seem to fit me perfectly. 

I dont really care bout all the bad things ppl say bout it, its in beta, tell it to the devs.

If the game isn't for you, that's fine, but you really shouldn't give misinformation.

Heck, there's one thing that's a lot different from L2, you can jump.

And not just for the heck of it.  My son has been playing regularly, and last night he was in a dungeon crawl where the party had to jump many times.  It was a bit frustrating, because every time you fell you lost some experience, so he figures he came out with no more experience than he went it with.

But all was not lost, he got some nice gear in the process, had a fun time running the instance, and figures jumping will improve with more practice. (Secret...don't watch what your teammates are doing, due to lag issues, they are seeing the platforms at a different time than you are.)

I hope to give it a good trial next week after my new laptop arrives.

I really like this game, whithout ever tryed it lol, well i've looked at the login screen, that must count as some experience.. just cant get past it

I have searched whole interweb for information to learn about the game, even babelfished some of the korean site (iknow, blah blah blah its not the same as NA version blah blah blah). Thats what i do on the comp allday, troll forums and try to b amused with a casual round of war3 cs mod

China and I spoke last night.  I may have an extra key.  I say "may", because while I fairly confident it was not used, I'm not 100% sure, as that day was chaotic with my friends and I getting in and our accounts setup.

you bring up good points but the reason I compare it to L2 (and I dont feel this is misimforamtion) is because it is obvious that they got the rights to use the L2 engine then changed some of the coding to make there own game. While this is a legitamate method of production(car companies do it all the time, example the sporty pontiac/saturns convertables are built on Opal chassy thats been sold in europe for years) it dosnt make for a better game.  Also I feel there are better knock offs.  If you enjoy it I hope you have fun I think Ill try something else till AoC or War Hammer comes out

 

Original ideas in MMORPG are rare. You don't see a lot of them these day. Every MMO copies every other MMO.  But there are enough Western  MMMO influences in Requiem to make it stand out from the rest of Korean MMOs out there.  The only original idea in Lineage 2 is castle siege which inherited from Lineage anyway. Other than that, it's just a copy cat of other Western MMOs before it with a fearsome grind.

Poster above, did you just say Lineage 2 copied from other Western MMOs? Somebody is about to get flamed, shot, stabbed, gutted, etc.

I was more then early enough and tried to get a key on fileplanet but it didn't work. Tried several times but I got no error message or anything... Just nothing at all.

If anyone has a spare key.. I'd welcome that
