When the game goes open beta to live, you can count on the asian gold farming rings infesting the game just like they do all the other popular free to play asian item mall grinders. Its sad times when all gamers have to look to is these cheap grinders. And I forgot to say the game is a grind... oh nm... I said that.

I tried it.

It's nothing but Lineage 2 with sluttier outfits ( and the same running everywhere hunched over

animation and the same grind ), washed out dismal graphics, and some blood / wannabe

gore thrown in.

While some of the mobs are interesting looks wise ( demons and such ), AI is damn near

non-existant and the blow apart deaths are more amusing than scary, reminiscent of the original

Doom quality.

Graphically, the game would have been behind the times in 1999.

They can't even decide if it's modern or fantasy, as you see everyone with swords and clubs,

yet there's corrugated steel panels tacked onto walls.

This one can join 2moons as another wannabe horror grinder with no originality, no outstanding

or noteworthy qualities, and no real play value to show, other than it's free ( unless you're one of

the wierd ones that would actually buy something from the item shop for this garbage ). And even

then only if you've played every other free mmo out there to boredom first.

This is one of those games that there is more then meets the eye. It looks like your basic korean grinder.... but if you get up to about 15 and do Sanctum you find out real fast this game has some of the best designed dungeons in any game. I know that is saying ALOT..... but seriously its something you have to try to belive. That dungeon was just...... amazing.

Carmaggedon was good. this is utter shit.

The animations, creatures and area designs are very good so far.  Visually, it seems to scale very well as you progress to higher levels.

I could not agree to this any more than now. the game itself id give a 7.5 the only major flaw in this ame is the lag-ONLY. and as most games do , the lag will be cut down after beta.And there isent even a item mall-that i kno of-so quit bashing the ame when you have only played it for 30 mins to 1 hr. but none the less it is a MEGA grinder

I've been playing since Friday, and i would say, that it's really not a bad game. Its far superior, to me atleast than POTBS and LOTRO.

Characters are nice looking, movement isn't to bad and combat animations, with the gore and all seems to fit really wrell.

The nightmare system is a pretty cool idea as well as item compounding and reinforcements.

So all in all, much better than most FTP and PTP games out.

If you have to play for >4 hors before the game starts being fun then they did something wrong, I havent played yet but just have to say this.

Requiem is just the flavor of the month. Everyone will hype it and talk crap to the people who say what it really is..... its really just another free to play asian item mall grinder. All the people that will hype requiem will be off next month when the next free to play asian item mall grinder comes out. The people that hype these piles of garbage hop from game to game to game, they have no clue what a real game is or about. Yes I do test the free games out from time to time.

Each time I test a free to play asian item mall grinder, its the same a to z. I dont think these people know how to make a good mmo. So yes, people dont fall into the hype of Requiem, its like all the rest of the free to play asian item mall grinders. If you do play, you know what I mean. 

Well, I disagree. I tried out a couple of Asian mmos recently (Perfect World and Dekameron (2Moon) being the last) and I liked Requiem far better. I preferred the graphics, the animation etc. For an f2p Asian game and a beta it seems very polished to me. Grinding did not seem too bad (at least in the first 10-15 levels). There were a lot of, admittedly rather dull, quests. But you defenitely got more xp following the quest lines than just killing mobs.

There are some serious drawbacks. The repair system for one. Or, more of a game breaker, everyone has the same skills for the first 10 levels. That turns starting up several chars into a nightmare.

The whole time I was playing it, I kept on thinking, that I wished they would make more use of their unusual backround story. I love the post - apocalyptic setting. The windriders (little mechanical planes for travel) is a good example. But there is not enough of this stuff. Up untill now, I was not able to get a real feeling for the story or what the players role within the world is supposed to be. But perhaps I am expecting too much in that respect.

All in all, I will certainly try it out for a bit longer and see how it develops in higher levels. To write it off after an hour's play is too do this game an injustice.

Ok for the people who have played the game until level 10 and then quit, I understand why you think this game is utter crap, alot of the intro seems to still need work and we must all understand, this is a CLOSED BETA, they are still working out alot of bugs, and content.

I'm currently lvl 18, and I've been having a blast, starting at 15+ you can start going on instance runs non-stop, which IMO is very fun in this game since they are highly engaging events.  There are platforming elements involved, timing sequences, all sorts of little extras that make these dungeons seem VERY unique compared to other games. 

I'm not saying this is the game to end all games, but what I am saying, is that you really have to get to about 14-15 to start enjoying the game, there are tons of areas to explore, and sofar I haven't run out of quests.  Also a tip on the questing, quests give the best weapons you'll find typically, and they are usually far down a quest line, so make sure your constantly picking up and completing quests while you play.

I just hope that not too many people are turned away by the rather weak 1-10 and the very first dungeon, Mines, which is very, very crappy.  Give it a try, tough it out until your past 14, and then give your opinion.

Yes, yes... great game... next month you will all be playing ROHAN Online and Requiem wont even be a second thought. Then after ROHAN onto the next flavor of the month and so on.

I  can't wait til the day when they actually make a good, fun, and interesting horror genre game...That will be the day..

I love how ppl can flame a game when it is in CB.... for crying out loud ppl if you dont want to find bugs and things that are not right yet then why the hell are you in CB? the game still has things that need to be implemented into it yet how about you wait till the game goes live then pass ya judgment. It is a Grind yes but unfortunately this is all you are going to get from any new MMO from now and untill some 1 can break tis mold and try something new please dont come here and say "IT IS JUST ANOTHER L2 ASIAN GRIND FEST" WHat in the hell were you expecting?of course it is gonna be a grind that is what all MMO's are if you dont want to grind then maybe you should be playing Mario OR Sonic or something MMORPG'S=Grind with Quest thrown in to break the minotony.

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've posted anything on this site (been busy with life and beta games). I've been playing Requiem on and off since Friday, and I would have to agree with charlizd on this game. 

Everytime an Asian mmo opens a beta everyone rips on it within minutes of release. Some, I think, don't even play the game; but create bogus accounts just to write dumb, uninformed poo poo reviews of these games. I remember this happening when Age of Armor, and Silk Road came out. It's sad because this game really has some potential to succeed where the others have failed.

Grinding is in every MMO. What this game needs is additional fluff, but I'm sure it will come in due time. I for one would love to see them add additional character customization. I think City of Hereos/Villains raised the bar on this, and I can't understand why other mmos haven't picked up on this. That's just one thing I would like to see in Requiem, but this game is still pretty cool.

I guess I don't have as much time to invest in game playing - as I have in the past; so a game like this is perfect for me to passed a few minutes of my free time. Until AoC comes out anyways. :-)

To the OP: I find it premature to label a game as "just another asian item mall grinder", in this stage - CB. You are playing the game now = you're a tester = you're supposed to find bugs and other in game problems; and yet you prefer to come in here and trash the game, and further more, to trash all asian MMOs. It's very dissapointing to see who's got the CB keys and how those are wasted by such individuals. If you don't like the game, you could cancel your account so that someone else that really wants to play the game may benefit.

For the record: no, I'm not asian, yes, I am waiting for Rohan, and yes, I like asian MMOs - some of them turned out to be very entertaining to me (Hero, 9Dragons, Zu - to name just a few). What has this to do with Requiem? Nothing - exactly like your "justification" - just because people play a certain game now and another one tomorrow doesn't mean you can come and trash the game without getting a negative reaction.

It's not enough to say "this game sucks" - at least explain why. For instance I would be interested in hearing if and why the DNA system sucks, or why you hate the possession feature....but I feel I'm asking for too much, right?

The game already exist, this is just a port. If it was a brand new game, it would deserve a little credit. It is not a brand new game, so it doesn't.
