I'm shocked there are no posts here.

As am I.

The game is really a lot of fun.  It's a 2d sprite on a 3d background type of game.  There's a fair amount of classes to choose from, and advance into.  It would be pretty hard to not find something you like about the game.

My favorite aspect would have to be the PvP.  Unlike some games where it is simply rock/paper/scissors in terms of what beats what, every class has an important role and can be quite powerful.  It really boils down to skill.

All in all, it's definitely a worthy game to check out.

It's a really great game.  I mean, it's compared to Ragnorak Online a lot but when I first played it, I thought it was more of an enhanced version of Runescape lol.  To be quite honest, none of the forums here aren't active as much but hey, it never hurts to post.

But if anyone plays Solstice, they got a new item release out which is really cool.  You can check it out here.

Just to set the record straight, that "tiger claw" up there by the last post is pretty much a cash shop gamebreaker. SotS relies heavily on very little stat points and it bolsters up to +15def points, which turns the battle upside down for AOErs looking for maps. For reference:

Between 10def it can count for a full map pull of monsters in one area 5 maps down than if you had the +10def boost, which would allow you to go 5 maps up and still get the full map.

They're talking about a Solstice:Rebirth sequel just to fix all that kind of willy nilly issue but for now, don't touch it. Not until you see the sequel released. And even then, practice caution. Oh, and PvP's a joke with inbalanced stats due to heavy emphasis on PvE and atk/def inbuilt damage control formulas.

I'm not saying that SotS is something that everyone should avoid like the devil, because it has some good points, such as a community that refuses to give up even when they've been waiting over a year for new maps (SMH), but don't expect sunshine and rainbows, ever, from this title and anything related to it. A quick hand-down formula book:

Positives: Community, active forums, the hope that something will be fixed, cute graphics. There used to be an excellent GM called Murdock, but he resigned and I don't know the state of any GMs right now apart from one boss's-pet-GM. You'll know who I'm talking about as soon as you spend a few days in it *unless he left*

Negatives: Most of the ingame features are pretty glitched: Guilds serve almost no purpose apart from the "guild chat", PvP is out of whack as stated before, combat is one heavy, HEAVY grind (Once past level 36, you can give up hope of leveling like before, and remember that the second class change is at level 45/66, depending on your choice.) Overpowered cash shop is worse than the worst you've ever seen before, so strap on those gumboots and get ready. Healers used to get the cheap ride up to level 96 due to AOErs liking lower level healers for taking less exp in party, but they have map level restrictions now so that's partially been solved.

All info dated approx. end 2009-early 2010. I highly suggest anyone wanting to play to go straight to the game's official forums first before anything. ANYTHING, mind you.
