Heroes always arrive late.

At first I liked it. I really did. Then things started to go down hill FAST. I've now gotten to level 20+ with a mage, a fighter, a healer, and a crafter of every type. This took me a couple weeks.

First lets' get this out of the way - IGG are money grubbing, greedy little bastards. They've set things up so the item mall is more needed than ever. But this doesn't affect the main problems with the game.

Craftfest? That's a GOOD thing. Encourages player interaction. I love their crafting system and have no real complaints about it. The real crapstorm is in being a fighting class.
They tell you that you can make a hybrid class, customize your skills, ect. That is a blatant freaking lie. Most hybrid builds flat out don't work. As a mage, you're stuck with ONE type of armor, the squishy mage armor. As far as magic schools, you get a choice: Healing OR Necromancy, Chaos OR Earth magic. You can choose one of both, but there's not a whole lot of variety there.

As a fighter, you have a choice between shield or dual wield. Whoopee. Archers are just about the only really hybridizable class. Spears? Don't even think about it.
Robots? Robots are made of suck and fail. They have the lowest attack in the game, even below a barehanded fighter. And this game doesn't even support barehanded fighting. They're also huge and make it impossible to click on anything they're covering. A fighting robot is a complete impossibiity. You can not customize them in any way whatsoever, you can only give them their set upgrades.

There is NO documentation for this freaking game. None. They don't even tell you what keys do.  It took me TWO WEEKS to find out Tab repeats your previous action.

Bosses. Bosses are everywhere. Nearly every map has 3 or 4 minibosses to hunt down for fun, quests, or monster coins that give you a chance at wonderful (?) prizes. This would be awesome if every boss wasn't EXACTLY THE SAME.  They all have a centralized AOE attack, they will all kill the strongest of tanks in two hits unless they are both spamming potions and being healed by a life mage. Fights boil down to one person tanking, one or two people healing, the rest casting magic. There's just zero variety.

And god forbid you actually have to kill one of these things for a quest. There's nothing to prevent people from stealing your kills. If someone else does a significant...hell if they do ANY damage to the boss while you're fighting it, you will not get quest credit. I've personally dealt over half the damage to a boss, had another group come in and kill it while I was still fighting it, got the first AND last hit in, and did not get the credit for the kill.

Beta? This isn't a Beta. This is a shameless promotion that disgraces the term 'beta'. Just like with Archlord, they'll get the game up and running, then leave it for dead while they rake in cash from the item mall. There are no patch notes. No version notes. No communcation with techs/gms. Nothing.

I do agree with the robot thing... Although keep in mind that Robots aren't meant for fighting, but for quick transportation and collecting/crafting.  Robot skills can become much much higher than the character level because the developer's anticipated that fighting would not be a priority for the crafting classes.

Also, the bit about not having any documentation is an issue.

As for bosses, they shouldn't be a problem, but since there are so few people that play the game, they are. Once the game picks up, it's not going to be an issue.

The item mall is dirt cheap... 10 bucks for character slot. That's less than guild wars, and guild wars you have pay 30-40 dollars for each game and expansion. You could go the whole game up to the current level cap (60... will be changed to 90) without buying a thing from the item store, if you wanted.

Dual-classes are mostly useless, but my main uses both Chaos and Wraith magic quite skillfully with no real problem. Some other hybrid classes definitely could be useful (Miner). Still,  the game gives you a ton of premade, functional classes to start out with, so I see no reason for hybridization. It's just for more flexibility.

Kill-stealing sometimes is a problem, but usually when that happens other users have been polite enough to wait around and help you to get the kill again. No need to complain for that, AO users so far are among the most friendly and polite I've seen in the online gaming world.

I recently discussed with one of IGG's representatives about how the patches lack patch notes, and the representative personally gave me a list of recent changes... Mostly fixed bugs (what seemed like hundreds) and translation errors (more fixes to come). Documentation is a possible addition in future patches, as is a "dueling system".  If you've played AO, you're already familiar with the amazing other PvP system available, so I'm excited to see what they do with dueling.

I'll forward some of your concerns to IGG and I hope you can give AO another try when it's a little more developed. It's really a lot of fun.

Pretty easy to find... This is the documentation and manual you were looking for. I asked some guys over at IGG and they sent this link to me. It seems complete, but please note, you can also target monsters by "Right Clicking" on them. You don't have to attack them immediately with "Left Click".

Hope this helps.

Also, I'd like to add to your complaint about bosses. Are you aware that if you're in a party with the other people attacking the boss, you will all be guaranteed credit for the kill? And you justified the bosses' difficuly yourself... They do offer amazing rewards, such as rare pets, unique weapons and armor, and items that can sell to other players for tons of money, if you can't use them.
