Fiesta Online News - Outspark pre-Paid Now at Target

Fans of MMOs from Outspark will be happy to know that they can put away their credit cards as pre-paid cards for the game will now be available from Target.

SAN FRANCISCO – September 16, 2008 – Outspark (www.outspark.com), a leading “virtual playground” of online community-based gaming for all ages, today announced the release of pre-paid cards at Target stores beginning September 23, 2008. Through its partnership with GMG Entertainment, Outspark’s SparkCash Cards are now available in Target stores nationwide with other retail partners to be announced later this year.

The new SparkCash Cards give the Outspark community a convenient way to customize their gaming experience and enjoy premium items in all of Outspark’s popular online games including Fiesta, Secret of the Solstice, Project Powder and the forthcoming first-person-shooter, Blackshot.

Available in $10 and $25 denominations, players can use their SparkCash Cards to get hundreds of limited-edition, in-game items for their characters including clothing, weapons, pets, power-ups and more.

“Our users complete thousands of transactions daily, and pre-paid cards are the most convenient way for even more gamers to have a premium experience within our micro transaction model,” Susan Choe, founder and CEO of Outspark. “With Target and our other partners, we have the opportunity to give our current community a new and easy avenue to get SparkCash while at the same time, introduce the Outspark experience to an entirely new audience of consumers.”

Outspark recently announced a deal with PlaySpan, the first publisher-sponsoredTM in-game commerceTM network, to provide a secured player-to-player virtual goods marketplace for Outspark games. The partnership will provide the Outspark community with an efficient and open market in which to use its new SparkCash to purchase virtual goods within their favorite Outspark games.

With a highly-active community of nearly three million registered users, Outspark has built a “virtual playground” where members play high-quality multiplayer games, socialize and experience and share premium content.

This is more a marketing ploy than an actual fact.  Most Target stores won't even bother to carry it.  I know some store managers and they don't order any of the optional PC stuff because it does not sell.   The console items are much bigger sellers.  So good luck trying to actually find one of these paid cards in one of the rare stores that carry them.
