I don't personally love Fiesta, but I can't understand the multitude of complains about it. It does sometimes get laggy, mainly when your personal internet connection sucks, but there are occasional bouts of server lag too. The community is helpful (unless you log on at the Spanish hour), and yes, there are advertisements spamming the chatboxes when you first starts. This is a perfect time to test out the handy "block" function, which promptly gets rid of all the spammers. It takes about 5 seconds.

The most fun part of the game is the market for materials and equipment. The grind is bad in later levels, and in PVP maps, you're likely to get killed very quickly by the people who happen to be at the max level limit for the map. As far as questing, grinding, and general MMOing go, Fiesta is bad. However, getting into production of stones and scrolls, as well as buying and selling enhanced equipment, is a very fun thing to get into (unless you're bad at it).

Yes, it takes "about five seconds" to block spammers but it takes a lot more than that when there are 3+ going at one time. I blocked every single one that popped up because not doing so would screw up my conversations. But once I'd blocked one, there'd be another. And now that they have those stupid shouts you can pay for that echo throughout the whole of the server, it's even worse because you can't block them. I've had idiots actually sit there and post nothing but symbols for 10+ minutes at a time.

And that is just plain annoying. But what are you going to do? Even if there is a rule against it, OS doesn't enforce its rules most of the time so they're pointless. The only rules they really enforce heavily are those pertaining to their ability to make money.

The game is laggy and there's no way to clear that up, at least not smoothly. There's some command you can put in to get rid of everyone around you but when I tried to hit it again to bring them back up, the stupid game crashed much like it does when you attempt to change servers which has never worked and probably doesn't today even.

The programmers, themselves, don't seem very skilled. They'll put in, say, snow at Christmas time but screw something else up. At one point, Clerics couldn't heal anyone whose name was too long (in other words, if a person in your party's name was I'mAStupidIdiotWithALongName and it showed up as I'mAStupidIdiot..., you couldn't heal them by clicking on them) without using the function keys. Imagine doing Robo with 3 pt members whose names are a mile long and having to somehow run, use the function keys to switch between characters, and your hotkey to heal all at once while watching your own health and everyone else's. Not fun, especially not when people start mouthing off.

It's also a very dramatic game, a lot of the people playing it seem to be off a bit. The stronger guilds can't stay together for more than a week, if even that, and everyone makes a huge deal out of it when really, the problem is that most of these guilds are full of jerks. They just want the strongest players, they don't take into account the fact that some of them jump from guild to guild while others are dirty players and some just want attention and will lie and cheat to get it. One guild actually got stolen like twice because they were dumb enough to hand power over to someone untrustworthy but they'll keep doing it, keep breaking up, reforming, renaming themselves, etc.. It's easier to ignore when you're just starting out but once you reach a certain point, these people are all you see and hear about even though not all of them are that skilled or nice and it personally made me feel trapped. I like games that are so big that you don't have to deal with that. In PWI, for example, there are two really powerful factions. If there's any drama going on between them, I haven't heard about it because I haven't made it my business, I don't care, and I've only seen fewer than half a dozen players belonging to them.

As you can probably tell, I have quite a few issues with this game. I won't lie and say, "Ugh, it's total crap!" because it's what got me into online gaming. It's fun for first timers and/or people who aren't very serious about gaming (I think there's too much plvling going on and that OS puts out too many items to help people level faster for it to be very "hardcore") but really...I've played better and far less stressful games. I like logging on, playing, not having to worry about glitches and crashes and skills not working and I really like how peaceful some other games are because I don't have to deal with mouthy brats as much or weird, older gamers acting like tards. I know they're out there but I'm happy with not having to talk to them.
