First Planet Company, the developers behind Planet Calypso have announced that version 10.6 is now available for download. 10.6 adds a new creature, the Proteron, which was the winner of the "Create-a-Critter" contest held earlier this year.

The update also enables players to upgrade their items, including weapons, armor, mining tools and even first aid packs. The items raise in tier through use and will gain sockets used to improve it as it advances through the tiers.  Sockets can then be filled with a new item class called "enhancers", which naturally, enhances the item.
