You can think as much as you want but In the end Entropia is NOT gambling and that is a fact! In Sweden the government has a monopoly on gambling related activity. And they also have a agency with the task to inspect new companys on the market and ensure that there are no gambling involved. And MindArk, beeing a company in sweden gothenburg, was made a visit by this agency. MA had to give them full insight in the system (such as the loots etc.) so that they could give them either thumbs up or down (in which case they would have to and their business). And if this agency with all cards on the table decided that EU is NOT to be labelled as gambling, who are we to beg the differ? The name of the agency is "lotteriinspektionen" (the lottery-inspection) for your information. Call them or email them and ask them yourself. their site: www.lotteriinsp.se/sv/Gaming-Board-for-Sweden----1/
the only reason why it may seem like gambling to some, is because the game requires much more then just clicking on a mob to kill it. Its not for young kids who are ignorant in life and play mmo games with elves that shoot fireballs from their ass's to level up. Entropia requires you to understand the game, there is a dynamic system which you need to understand and to use it to play in a clever manner. |

Every ad for Entropia I have seen advertises people who have quit their jobs and made a fortune off the game, buying houses and paying their own way through college, etc etc. They also advertise being able to put money in, play the game, and maybe get money back out at a later date (which is pretty much the definition of gambling). Just because "there's a system" doesn't make it any different than gambling, because all gambling has a "system" in place that can be gamed. In fact, many casinos will kick you out for discovering these systems and trying to exploit them. Entropia encourages you to exploit these systems; that's great, but it's still gambling. |

LOL dude ,you been living under a rock?Illegal activities go on all the time ,right under the face of the law. They do it by sneaky means, that will not DIRECTLY point the finger at them.It is like the illegal movies and videos online. The sites just host, they do not carry files or anything that will link themsleves to lawsuits. It has been WELL known for a long time, that real money is involved in Entropia, weather you call it gambling or whatever i don't care. As for the game it is horrible, not worth a few hours of time to get to learn all of it.I wasted 2 hours of my time. There is a few games like this and a new one opening up that are geared towards older gamers with real money trading activities.I believe the other game is called Second Life and there is a few others. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

The cashcard is still being advertised even though the former cashcard was terminated´, and it has been like this for years now. Yet the CEO of MA Jan Welter Timkrans states in every fucking intervjuve that the cashcard is there. It takes you atleast 2-3 month to take out youre money if you decide to. MA and some CO company was investigated a couple of years ago. There has been promesing of several things in EU for the last 3 years, none to be implemented. And the advertising of making money just shows what kind of company MA is! And dont forget the endless grining, this game have just about zero gameplay, everything is about grinding. Sure, you can join an event but in the end that is just more grind but with a some more people. The only thing it has, is the addictive gambling part with the RCE. But as a MMO, it fails. To sumarise it quickley: Grind away and become greedy. No fun at all, no chance in hell to loot all parts from even an lowrare armor. All highend items just change owner between the same players/resellers. The grinding is just horrific, crafting=grind, Hunting=grind, mining=dont even go there. It fails in any way compared to any MMO out there(maybe not the f2p ones) |

Well, I'm not gonna research 190 countries laws to provide you with that answer. Why don't you do that research and report back to us? I think what you'll find is that since payment is not required to get in-game cash (TBH though...it ain't easy to get sizeable amounts this way. Damnit, Jim...it's a MMORPG, not a free moeny machine!) that technically it isn't gambling by the legal definition most use. AG Alpha AG Geek |

I haven't logged in here for a few days and come back to this? You are completely delusional and have been either living somewhere apart from earth or you lack the education to determine what gambling is. Paying money into anything to try and win more = gambling. Paying money into slot machines to win more = gambling. Yes despite what you say think or write EU is a game of gambling. As for your research you still are blinded by MA's crap. So why don't you go and REALLY do some research and get back to us with your findings. We all play EU and we all deposit in to EU but the FACT of the matter is we all know it is a gamble. Anyone with half a brain can work that out. 1gam·ble Listen to the pronunciation of 1gamble intransitive verb 1 a: to play a game for money or property b: to bet on an uncertain outcome 2: to stake something on a contingency : take a chance transitive verb 1: to risk by gambling : wager 2: venture , hazard ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EU sure as hell sounds like gambling to me. |

LOL fanboys are too funny sometimes. I've been playing EU for 5 years. You know, back when it was actually fun and you didn't loose everything you have in a day? You are kidding yourself if you say it's not gambling. It's such a rip off it's not even funny. About 2-3 years ago there were game designers who played EU and now have created their own game. It's in alpha stage and I've been a tester for 2 years. That game is going to kill EU out of the water. It's open testing for those of you curious. Might as well post here because entropiaforum.com is run by MA and the censor all. Site is www.afterworld.ru It's in alpha and already you can see MA will fail. Hail ppl,
Even so, the game is still fun and I still play it whenever I need to relax a bit from normal day to day stuff. P.S- What is this about AfterWorld?? How come I haven't heard of this game before and why is it not in the MMORPG.COM game list??? Definitely gonna try it out!

"EU will die soon" Quoted for the truth. If they don't get their greed fixed this will happen. Esp/ with mindark spliting too. Reason you ahven't heard about Afterworld is because we get banned when we put it in Entropiaforums(even off topic). I wonder why =P And reason it's not on site yet is because it's still alpha and not beta. Drackarre-A new medieval fantasy sandbox mmorpg in development by Bungaboo. |

Calling or e-mailing the company and asking them if their game is a gambling game is upfront evidence? Maybe I should call Enron and ask if the really had a finacial scandal? All you need to do to know it's a gambling game is play the POS, which I have. |
