hello everyone i have encouter an ugly  thing with project entropia  i am playing from israel  and a few friends that play in the uk and the us convince me to join the game  .

the game itself is free  so i applied for a free account after 24 hours i got 2 emails :

1 email that approve my free account

2 this is the copy of the email

"Dear Entropia Universe Applicant,
Your application did not pass the automatic Account approval procedure. In order for us to accept your Account application you need to supply us with the two following documents:
1. A front and back copy of one legible, color, valid Government issued Photo Identification (e.g. Passport, National Identification Card or Driver's License).
2. A utility bill in Your name with an address matching the Entropia Universe account information (e.g. Electricity, Gas, Cable, Water, Land Line or Telephone bill).
Color scan these documents and send them to: Entropia_Support@mindark.com."

i was puzzled didnt understood why they needed those documents so i asked my friends if they got that email  they said they never got it so i wrote to entropia support and they replay me with this answer:

"We have deemed it necessary to update our security requirements of new account applications from certain geographical regions. The result is that account applicants from these regions can continue to create an account upon verification of their identity. MindArk strive to maintain an even balance between security and user-friendliness in order to ensure the integrity of all participant accounts. This update is another step in providing everybody an opportunity to participate in the virtual universe."

so i replied to them that i never been asked to give any documents for any other mmo i ever played  so they reply with an answer that they updated there security  system so they got to ask for those documents the problem is that they dont asked them from everyone that want to have an account (it doesnt matter where you playing from people that want to hurt any game play all over the world us uk it doesnt matter)  meaning they are doing a race check by where ur are playing from and they setting  harsh terms for people that playing from different places in the world, when i told them that they are racist they answered:

"We can ascertain that this is not a racial question. Why we ask for these documents is because we have reoccurring problems with accounts from specific regions and for the safety of our company, we have been obliged to increase our security measures.:

that answer made me angry cause its like i  will go and say all black people are robbers or all arabs are terrorists and so on,

in the bottom line project entropia are racist cause they need to do a background check for certain people that play in certain parts of the world they dont do that to anyone that ask for an account

It's not racist, that's something YOU are pushing into the equation.

It's REGIONAL. They don't know if you are black, white, yellow or even green. They only know WHERE you are signing up from.

Regional is NOT a race so you can't call it racial discrimination.

they dont ask those documents from anybody else, just because i am living in israel they dont trust me??  so they need documents to assure i am from there ?? why are they dont asked those documents from people that live in england or france or the u.s why ??? they can hurt the game from there too. by  making a term for people that live in certain places they are judging them cause where the live meaning they dont trust the people that play from that area meaning they are doing a race discrimination

No, you seem to not understand 'race'.

Race, isn't about where you live, it's about your genetic herritage. You could be British and live in Israel, or you could be Israeli and live in Israel. You will be treated exactly the same by them. It's NOT racial.

They are discriminating by region, but NOT by race. It's exactly the same if you drive around a red light district in England. You'll get pulled by the police a LOT more often than if you are driving around any other area.

Simply put, it seems they have had a LOT of problems from people (not race or steriotyped race) from the area in which you live.

To the OP...Generalize and project much?

if you people dont understand how bad this is i guess you are blind you really believe that this area got more problems then the u.k or u.s it pathetic sorry to say but what they are doing is bad sadly i dont understand how no one even complain about what they ask its sad

again if they would have asked every1 for those documents i would not say anything but they dont  so they discriminate areas and basicly is cultures or race i dont know of any other mmo in the world that do that there are Asian games that dont have euro servers or u.s servers and again they dont ask certain document to join the game if u still dont think its racism then you need to open your eyes

dude they are not worried about you, it is pakistan they are worried about, and since pakistan is that region as well.

No OP, its you who just don't understand the concept of race.  I'm pretty sure 'racially' your country is diverse, a mixture of many 'races'.  They are not specifically targeting a specific race.  If they specifically went after people with arabic sounding names no matter where they lived, that would be racist. 

  There is discrimination going on here..... 'geographic' discrimination as detailed in their response to you.

Israel is in one of these regions, you happen to live there, so you are subject to this geographic discrimination. 

Here in the US our government might  put you on a watch list if you came to our country from certain areas in the middle east. (probably not Israel)   Not because they are racist...but due to the fact that we've had a bit of 'trouble' from people in this region.

And you are not talking about an ordinary MMO, this is an economic market with real money being transferred both ways. It is kind of more important that they have higher security on that than Maple Sotry or whatever you play normally. if you have a problem with a game that will send your money to other people and other people send money to you have a tight security... then the only one who is in question here is you, WHY you dont want them to keep the game as secure as possible. Not them, I applud the fact that they take their business seriously.

I assume hence you live on Israel u'r a Jew... if tha'ts the case, Fear not, just hand the id. The regional landscape over there is scary, so they are covering their backs that's all, read the email they sent you back "recurring account problems with that region".

Don't pull the "Jew *everyone discriminate me* act" and private yourself a game only because u've been asked for an id (weird, i know, but not an offense).

First off Project Entropia isn't free. Only gullible people believe the marketing that suggests games like this are free. The mechanics of games like this are designed to make it very difficult if not impossible to never buy anything from item shops, in-game coin directly from the developer, etc.

But that's another issue. You would have to be a fool to share personal documents with such information with anyone, let alone some shady MMO developer. Why haven't you dismissed this game?
