Ask a question and you are stupid for 30 seconds, never ask and you are stupid for life.

My friend can't pay for WoW...and I only want to pay for one mmorpg at a time. We both want a free mmorpg to play, I know Entropia isn't really free...but is it possible to start out on brand new characters without needing to pay for anything? My friend can't afford anything at the moment, he has other stuff he needs to spend money on (health problems etc). And me, I can't pay for much more either besides WoW.

So to sum it up, can we start brand new characters...log on and be able to fight  (he prefers fighting, I don't care either way about fighting or crafting) or craft and earn money that way? Or are you forced to pay right from the start?

Thanks:)

You start the game with nothing but your jump suit. Not exactly outfitted to go out and kill stuff. what you need to do is find a nice person that will let you tag along and pull for them and let you take some loot. then you will eventually be able to buy a ahnd to hand weapon or a cheap pistol. Also you have to buy ammo and you offten spend more than you loot. Some may disagree but without begging money it's very difficult to make a good go of it in Entropia. I love the skil base system though, and the community is unique.

Hi,

I hope you start to play this great game, it's fun and it's most mature ppl in there.
You don't hear any whining in there exept "this was a bad day for me"
I think you need to get your self a mentor, just ask for one when you arrive and you will
have a some of ppl around you to sharing thier knowledge. A mentor will get a reward for taking
you under his wings but he don't need to give you a cent or anything if he don't want to. If u get a
mentor that don't help you out a bit and you aren't satisfied with him, you can kick him as mentor
in 48 hours.

If you don't kick him in that time he will be you mentor untill you get to a sertain skillpoint in eg. handgun.
It can take ages before you reach that point and you can't do anything about it.
So keep that in mind when you select your mentor.

If you get help and he/she is a nice ppl don't be a jerk and kick him if he gives you a weapon and
some cells for it.
Happends me when i was trying to get a new ppl, gave him a pistol, 10 ped and 1k cells.
Direct after that trade he kicked me. Will never forget his name and i will for sertain never get into
any team with him in future.

Some ppl has manage to build up a good character in there without deposit a cent, it's not a
easy thing but it's possible to do with or without some help, sweating is the first think and only
you can get some PEDs from in beginning. I'm not a sweating guy, i'm a depositer and have
some fun in there, i don't listen on rumors and don't get angry about market price anymore.
i just playing and have some fun for the money i deposit. Have drained all my skills once
because i was to mad about the prices, bad loot etc. But not any more, i just do my thing and try to have fun.

Sweating is a mind skill that anyone can do but it's hard today, in erlier versions you could
trap you EI and sweat that dry without die. Now these days you will for sertain die alot, dosent matter,
notning happends and you can earn some money if you sell it to maybe buy a gun and some cells to begin hunting.

Don't expect to earn money in beginning from hunting, (if you don't have a realy good luck and get some
Global (above 50 ped and global  message about that ) or even a HoF (Hall of Fame) from a easy to kill Mob (animal)

Mobs around EU has no lvls, you will learn what will kill you instantly and what you can hunt, how fast they are and also souns from them. All
that together is your beginning of maybe beeing a good hunter in the future.

Prices and economy system. From start several years ago i have heard negative things about the economy and prices in EU.
In what we call TT (trade terminal, where you buy cells, mining bombs beginner weapon etc.) Some ppl TT away
EP-40 guns because no one wanted it. Now it has a value on Auction market of TT+120 PED (TT is what it has as value).
Get over it, prices goes up and down even in RL.

Don't expect to be a uber (lots of skills and realy expencive gears) player, take your time, team up with some newcomers
and try to sweat in grops, Sweating get you skills, skills os good and you will be better on sweating after some time,
get new skill ranks etc. I heard that some ppl sweats 20-40 ped a day, for me it's incredible but ok if they do
(120 $ / month or 1200 ped) wow maybe i start with that
if i get broke :D .

Enough text from me now, start to play, try to get a mentor and maybe it's me, who knows.

...maybe some misspelling and so on in this post but don't get angry about it, i can't do better than this :D
Ohh sry, this is MY opinion about how you can start to play EU. Don't blame me if you loos all your money in there.

Have a nice day

I agree with fire fork. The game is really fun but you must be patient. I was able to get a rifle and some pixie armor with out depositing a cent. You MUST sweat in groups to be successful. You survive longer and are able to get more sweat. The most valuable thing a player told me was to never run away when sweating. You will see your skills increase as you are attacked. The MOB's will eventually start to hit you less. Another thing. When you do get armor, do not wear it while sweating. It will decay faster and you will need to repair it. This costs money. Anyway, have fun. This is a great game and you might even learn something.

I CANT BELIVE ENTROPIA IS EVEN ON THIS SITE.

ITS NOT A GAME

mindark clearly state this in terms and conditions.

i made the mistake of making a char on this game and it was fun at the start if you put a bit of money in,entropia advertises its self as free to play but if you dont put money in then this is nothing more than a chat room,if you do put money in then congrats you have just put a fruit machine on your pc with a direct line to your bank account.

there are no quests in this experiance,

skill gain is poinless and slow to the point of impossible,

and in my opinion most of the people there are very unfreindly and childish unless they are tring to scam money out of you.

and if you think im a disgruntled player who has lost lots money you are wrong. after putting a bit of money in i relised my mistake and spent over a month reselling to get my money back.

if you dont belive me then web search for entropia forums and read all the brain washed garbage there.if you seriously enjoy playing this then you are very rich with no knowledge of the gaming world or a cabbage.

LONG LIVE  wow,lotro,everquest,neverwinter,diablo & c&c.

DEATH TO ENTROPIA AND MINDARK

Well based on your ability to spell even the simplest of words, I would suggest maybe spending more time in school learning. Entropia may not be a game in the truest sense of the word, but it certainly is more satisfying than most MMO's I have palyed.

Good luck to you in your quest to rot your brain on sensless gaming.

I just started about a week ago after over a year on Star Wars Galaxies.  I have to admit that I like it.  Skill boxes, sand box, etc etc.  The economy can be a drag, but with patience, it can be overcome.

This is not a game of instant gratification but it can be done with out depositing, only takes alot longer.  I haven't deposited a cent, yet.  Its probably not a game for (SWG speak) younglings unless they have access to dad's credit card, and alot of it, but for a mature audience, I'm pretty well satified, so far.

I also spread the word, a little, and last night it was like a SWG convention with more people from SWG expected tonight.
