The point of the current quests and events in the game are all directed to one thing, and one thing only: Gaining experience. You fight and level up, so you can move on the next quest, and yet, that quest you finally reached asks you to fight even more! This is a little ridiculous. You begin to question, “What is the point or end result of completing all the quests?” This cycle of gaining experience so you can gain more experience makes you feel as though Shadow of Legend as a game lacks a purpose.

I am a player of this game. Everytime I was assigned to fulfill a quest, I gained experience later. What is the real purpose of this game? Just gaining experience?

The game is well-designed and I have played it for a long period of time. I think this question is what the developers should speculate into.

I think as you level up there are many things waiting for you.  I am currently level 35 and I have experienced a lot:

1. Every few levels you will able to learn a new skill and get new armors and weapons.

2. At level 20, you begin your first career shift.  There are two more at level 40 and 60.

3. As you get stronger, you will be able to kill bosses, little and big, and the rewards are good.

4. When you reach high level, you will be able to buy PVP spice and kill anyone you don't like.

Of course, the major theme of this game is still the conflict between the two camps, union and chaos.  I am an ORC and I fight for Chaos.  I will fight and kill every single Union (Human or Elf) that is in my way.

that may be true, but ask yourself this question, "has your experience with SOL been all that you hoped for?"

we can live day in and day out working at a dead-end job with nothing to look forward to, but why would we want to do the same in a game that is suppose to take us away from that?

fantasy games for us is a form of escapism, and to help us forget about the real world, the game MUST offer us a purpose.  Otherwise, it'll be just like another dead-end job.

of course, the purpose of this game could be the war between two camps, but how will we know who's winning?  is there a function in the game that show's that information?

there is still an important thing you can get. That is entertaining. Don't you think it's a good thing after a working-hard day.

So basically you re saying you spend your time killing mobs to level up and gain skils till your a high enough level to PvP?

Sounds like a standard Korean Grinder to me.

In other words the Level Grinding IS the point of the game.

Gaining experience certainly is one part of the purposes, still some other things you can get, such as entertaining and killing time.

Heroes always arrive late.

So basically the endgame consists of killing newbies? That's a bit of a flawed design, don't you think?

It seems that there is a bit of flawed design, but if we try to tell them that it's not fair for the high lvl killing the newbies, they would consider changing it. After all no one want their game unpopular.
