GamerGod.com has just posted an exclusive interview with the team behind the open-source MMORPG Planeshift.  A preview is below:

GamerGod: In recent years we have seen more and more games develop housing for players, and I see that PlaneShift is doing the same, but you are also allowing the player to build castle's and realms. Can you explain this a bit more to tell our readers how they can build up to ruling over their own castle or even realm?

Lucas: We have "plans" to allow players to build houses and castles, but in the current version (CB) that is not possible yet. The power of a free game is that you can play it as much as you like, when you like. You are not bound by a monthly fee that pushes you to level up in 30 days to fully use the money you spent. We hope that a free game can relax a lot this aspect and inspire players to act in the game like if they were spending time with their real life friends. In many commercial games there is really a race for levels and money that disrupts role playing.
