Reactivation Weekend
City of Heroes devs have announced that a reactivation weekend for all former players is planned for October 7-10, 2010. During the weekend, all players will have access to the new areas and quests implemented with the Going Rogue expansion released earlier this month.

Hovering Between Good & Evil
A new in-house developer diary has surfaced on the Going Rogue website that discusses the alignment system. Penned by Shawn "Pit" Pitman, the article goes into the creation of the alignment system and discusses how players can potentially start with one alignment but completely alter it to the opposite end through a series of choices made is story-driven missions.

Let's Get This Party Started
NCSoft and City of Heroes devs are celebrating the launch of the new 'party pack', a new set of emotes that can be purchased in the NCSoft Store. Devs have plans to give away party pack keys on the official forums, the City of Heroes Facebook page and through the City of Heroes Twitter feed.

Put On Your Party Hat
Those crazy devs at Paragon Studios have announced a new 'Party Pack' coming soon for City of Heroes players. The pack contains a bunch of nifty new emotes including soccer, basketball and air guitar! The Party Pack will be available on September 14th for $7.99.

Design a Loading Screen Contest
Paragon Studios has announced a new contest for creative-types. Players have a month to create a new loading screen and, if chosen, to see their artwork immortalized in the game. Devs have provided all of the information and templates that are necessary to make the loading screen. The contest runs from August 20-September 20, 2010.

Issue 18: Shades of Gray Preloading Now
City of Heroes Issue 18: Shades of Gray is a free expansion for the game that sets the groundwork for the upcoming Going Rogue paid expansion. Shades of Gray can now be preloaded by players as they exit a play session. When servers are updated with Issue 18, the content will be installed.

Kinetic Melee Power Set
The City of Heroes: Going Rogue expansion is set to feature some nifty new power sets including the Kinetic Melee set. The Kinetic Melee power set uses an attacker's power against him and heroes wielding this set mold the power with their hands in a very Kung Fu-esque way before hurling it at an opponent. They are able to knockback, knock down and stun foes.
