Winter Event Coming Next Week
NCSoft and Paragon Studios have announced that the annual "Winter Event" is slated to begin on Friday, December 17th and run through Sunday, January 2, 2011. Players will be on a mission to stop Lady Winter from freezing the world and will be able to take in some hot cocoa at the ski chalet.

12 Days of Coralax
The City of Heroes team has announced a Coralax costume code give away. With the new game code, players will be able to look like Colorax. The codes will be given away daily on the CoH Twitter feed, Facebook fan page and the official site.

Issue 19: Alpha Strike Deploys
NCSoft and Paragon Studios have announced that Issue 19: Alpha Strike for City of Heroes has been deployed on all servers. The new update is free and continues the storyline started with the Going Rogue expansion. In Alpha Strike, players have the opportunity for a look at the first part of the Incarnate system that allows high level players to earn new skills and abilities.

Billboard Contest Announced
Paragon Studios and the City of Heroes dev team have announced a new contest. Players are being asked to create an advertising campaign for a product, retailer, restaurant chain, in-lore political candidate, or service of your own devising (or based on lore). The campaign is to be submitted on a "billboard" which, if chosen as the winner, will be featured in the game. If that isn't enough, three winners will receive some pretty awesome prize packages as well!

Take Advantage of Bonus Game Time
Paragon Studios and NC Soft have announced special holiday bonuses for players purchasing game time between November 30th and December 13th. Depending on the number of months purchased, players will receive up to two months extra at no charge.

Cyber-Monday Deals
The City of Heroes team has announced a pair of deals for Monday, November 29nd, so-called Cyber-Monday. Best Buy Game Zone members can grab the City of Heroes: Going Rogue Complete Collection for only $9.99. The NCSoft Store will also have a screaming deal on some of the booster packs.

Incarnate System Previewed
The City of Heroes development team from Paragon Studios had a great weekend during the Northern California Meet & Greet. The devs had a chance to mingle with thousands of CoH fans from around the world. In addition to a lot of other things, devs gave fans a sneak peek at the Incarnate System which will begin with the deployment of Issue 19.

Origins Booster Pack Giveaway!
NCsoft and Paragon Studios announced today the release of the latest booster pack for City of Heroes. The "Origins" Booster Pack features two new auras and and a new cape for each of the game's five origins, though it's important to note that all auras and capes can be used across any origin. MMORPG.com has also partnered with NCsoft and Paragon Studios to give away 20 City of Heroes: Origins Booster Pack codes, so come and get 'em!

The City of Heroes team has announced that the Rikti, quiet for the past several months, are ready to bring panic and mayhem to Paragon City, the Rogue Isles and anywhere else they can. The Rikti invasion is slated to begin on November 4th and run through November 7th on all City of Heroes servers.

NY Comic Con Panel Report

According to an anonymous source, City of Heroes/Villains developer Paragon Studios has been hit with a round of layoffs today, totaling nine people, and also possibly including Senior Animator/VFX Lead Christopher "Back Alley Brawler" Bruce.

Issue 19 Overview
Paragon Studios has put up a brand new web site page dedicated to Issue 19: Alpha Strike. The new content in Issue 19 will bring the much-anticipated Alpha Slot which gives high level players access to new powers and challenges. The update also brings new task forces, auras, the Fitness Pool, Praetoria zone events and more.
