City of Heroes News - April Producer's Letter & Praetorian Invasion

Posted by Suzie Ford on Apr 28, 2011  | 0 comments in our forums

A pair of new articles have surfaced on the City of Heroes site. The first is the April Producer's Letter which also contains a special anniversary address from Nate "Second Measure" Birkholz. The second article features news about an upcoming Praetorian Invasion live event in the form of a lore piece to pique player interest.

From the City of Heroes producer's letter:

Some of our most experienced players will recall that in the early days, City of Heroes was a very different game. The leveling curve was quite steep, missions used the longest maps whenever possible, the Monorail and Ferry required you to traverse long distances between multiple lines, and contacts regularly sent you to a different zone for every mission and were very private about their cell phone numbers. Some of the earliest Task Forces and Strike Forces were quite long as well, and I know I spent many a weekend on Trials that required a significant amount of dedication to complete.

From the City of Heroes Praetorian Invasion lore article:

The dark skies of Galaxy City did little to illuminate the room that Dr. Raymond Keyes was working in. Only the soft glow of several computer monitors added to the room's overall ambiance. His fingers danced across the keyboard of a hyper-advanced computer of his own design. While constructing this computer, he had contemplated one of the more modern touch and gesture-based interfaces, but the fact of the matter was that he could use the computer at a 17.6% greater capacity with a standard keyboard and mouse layout.
