NCsoft and Paragon Studios have announced a new Guest Author program for the Mission Architect system in City of Heroes. The Guest Author program will allow the City of Heroes team to collaborate with well-known writers and would-be game designers to publish custom missions directly into the game world.
NCsoft and Paragon Studios plan on announcing their guests on a "rolling basis". We've got details on the first two participants below:
- Rooster Teeth (www.roosterteeth.com): The machinima producers that brought the gaming world the Red vs. Blue series and created a series of live-action shorts for City of Heroes and Mission Architect (starring Barenaked Ladies’ front man, Ed Robertson, as Captain Dynamic) is ready to put their designer skills to the test. Rooster Teeth plans to bring Captain Dynamic and his nemesis, The Great Face, from YouTube to City of Heroes.
- Scott Kurtz (www.pvponline.com): The creator of the popular PvP web comic has already begun collaborating with the City of Heroes team on bringing LolBat to life within Mission Architect.
Scott Kurtz and Rooster Teeth's Joel Heyman will talk about their experiences creating custom content for City of Heroes on a panel at PAX this weekend. The panel, entitled "Mission Architect: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Story" will run from 2:30PM-3:30PM on Saturday, September 5th in the Raven Theatre at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center.
Pick me for the guest Author! I really love what NCSoft is doing with City of Heroes and creating new missions. I have a new project in need of a game publisher. I see The Guest Author program for Mission Architect system as a perfect way for game designers and major publisher to work on something small, that leads to something big! Of course I would tap my excellent writing team and give CoH players a real special experience!
Great job uncovering this "MikeB"
By the way I'm looking for some superstar C++ Programmers, including a Senior Lead Programmer if some are floating around here.
Cheers all!

Heh, I already have Captain Dynamic in a Mission Architect mission. :)
Vin, my guess is that the Guest Author programme doesn't provide any more tools for designers than the MA already does, so you don't have to be specially selected. Just subscribe to CoH and you'll be able to create missions.
