    The 10th anniversary of City of Heroes' release came and went with not much more than a whisper. The game is dead and so the usual jubilation and of course, events to go along with such a momentous occasion, were nowhere to be found. It's a bittersweet thing to reflect upon.     Polygon has a great new article about The Phoenix Project by Missing World Media. MWM is a group of ex-players of CoH also announced that it will begin a KickStarter project on September 8th. The team has said that The Phoenix Project will become the 'spiritual successor' to the shuttered "City of Heroes".

    City of Heroes fans have been busy since the announcement that the game would be shutting down this fall. Groups of players have organized in-game events, online petitions and more. Sadly, NCSoft says that, while they've heard players' voices, there are currently no plans to change the decision.

    In a realignment of company focus and publishing support, NCsoft has made the decision to close Paragon Studios. Effective immediately, all development on City of Heroes will cease and we will begin preparations to sunset the world's first, and best, Super Hero MMORPG before the end of the year. As part of this, all recurring subscription billing and Paragon Market purchasing will be discontinued effective immediately.
