Overall don't get me wrong love this game and have several lvl 50 but it seems like there isn't a whole lot to do after you reach 50. I started playing WoW bc my brother says there is tons to do when you reach 60.

War doesn''t determine who is right nor wrong. War determines who is left.

I think CoH/CoV is one of those MMORPG's that it's a wash and rinse game. maybe next year they'll add something for the villians to do.

They're doing more end-game content in the next issue...
Boomtown Interview

What do you mean by “fat loot”?
In the next update, Issue 8, we will have a new system that gives us the ability to make your level 50 characters better. That means we’ve abandoned the idea of raising the level cap to 60 for now and instead will give you the option to make your level 50s better, then better again and then even better. That process will last a lot longer than additional 10 levels, which just create a new problem: What to do after hitting level 60?

Will we have to wait another six months before we see Issue 8 being released?
No, I expect a release 3-4 months after Issue 7, which means around September. Issue 8 is well on track and there won’t be any big technological speed bumps this time.

LMAO, so i guess they added about 10TB of content to WoW now, OMG the miriacle actually happened.  But that is what all the MMOs are, you get to the end and it seems to be the same old crap over and over until the expansion comes.  on the plus side, you can aquire money to equip a lvl 1 and start over

Those are my thoughts, not yours

They must have changed that ...last I checked it was just a bunch of guys running raids to get the uber equipment , all the time. I did not see a lot of high end content. Here you can go back help lower level toons of TF's you may have missed, you can go badge hunting, totaly explore hazard zones, even hold your own costume contest.

i.e.  CoX has even less high-end content than WoW. . . .at least until Inventions.

Hmm, going back to the lower level content is considered HIGH-end content.....nope, just doesn't jive.  Doing Hami raids and LRSF is somehow better?  At least WoW has multiple "Hame/LRSF" raids.

The only thing I see that CoX over WoW is a costume contest but contests are player run and I don't see that any MMO has  a monopoly on that.  Totally Exploring Hazard Zones?  What does that mean?  WoW has so many more zones and interesting places to explore than CoX, except traveling them sucks big time.  Badge Hunting<Loot Hunting.

My love for super-heroes has kept me playing long and through multiple 50s.  It certainly wasn't the "variety" of the content.  I also agree its very repetitive.  At least in WoW, I can do crafting though repetitive in itself, it still provides something other than repetitive missions and combat.

Can you please please not compare games to WoW!! All games are different in their own aspects and you cannot rate all games compared to how you find World of Warcraft. Now I  have to admit that WoW is the best MMORPG out there at the moment but NCSoft and Cryptic have made this game to be a fun game for casual gamers. They dont want people draining their life into the computer every hour of every day. CoX is for people to log on maybe do a bit of lvling up and hopefully find a group of people to run a Mission with. Okay so the mission maps aren't that different.....So what? The gameplay is fun, the hero theme is cool and most importantly there is not much pressure on those at low levels.

And you've said something different than I just did, how?  Thanks for confirming my outlook...repetitive missions, playing mostly lower levels, only good for an hour or two of play(i.e. not much depth), CoX takes longer to level than WoW, etc. LOL.

You wouldn't happen to have alter egos on these boards by the name of myztikgohan or TheFranchise would you?

As one of the more active CoH forums(well about the only other active forum compared to the official boards) its funny to see people who have not posted a single thing for months or years, all of sudden pop up and defend CoH/V with their first post.  Methinks someone is an employee of a certain company or a really HUGE fanboi to make multiple accounts just to save them for instances like this.

I've been playing CoH for over 2 yrs and just hit my first 50 about a month ago. (serious altitis ) I was online Monday and didnt' really feel like playing even my newly unlocked WS that I'd been saving a character name and backstory for for the last 18 months.

I think what was killing the mood was the lack of SG ppl on. Yes, the repetition gets to be a bit tedious, but the community is one of the best aspects of the game. I won't/can't compare to WoW or EQ because I haven't played any other MMOs besides CoX, but the 'friends' I've made are what keeps me in-game. now that I've hit 50, I'll admit to a some exhaustion and a little less drive, but I haven't spent much time villain-side. And there are all those alts I haven't played with. And TFs to complete. Gotta get my 50 to an uber-50, just not in any hurry...

The less you expect, the more you'll be surprised. Hopefully, pleasantly so.

The main difference in the games are (now that WoW's been named) In WoW the game more or less begins at 50, since most simply grind xp a ignore story to get to 50 so that their build is ready and they can "raid for phat lewt", whilst CoH/CoV is about playing up to 50, and onece that 50's hit, trying out one og the near thoudands of other powerset/AT combinations, It's PFP (play for power) vs PFF (play for fun)
