Server:Freedom
i returned to this game 2 days ago and all i got was AE Teams. i have to group with some Level 6 players which are Auto Level 50 ?? This AE crap ruined the game for me completly, i cant find any other groups doing standard stuff than AE Teams. They are doing the same Farm missions over and over again.
i see missions with BOSS only crowds of enemies. This is horrible, the game is not what is used to be anymore. today i canceled mine and wifes account again, guess i wont ever play CoX again with 99% of players just Farming AE now. I hope the Devs of Champs online wont make the same mistakes...

When AE first came out it was as bad as the OP says. And I don't play on Freedom (I prefer smaller population servers) so maybe that server still has serious issues. But from what I have seen things are a LOT better now than they used to be. Yes, a lot of people still sit in the AE powerleveling all day. But there are also some players (such as myself) who don't set foot in the AE building at all anymore. People are starting to get bored with the AE and people are slwoly moving away from it. I think in time it will get better. And if you check the other thread ("does i16 fix i14" or something along those lines) you will see that one guy claims that the new i16 update will make some chaanges to AE which should make easy powerleveling less rewarding in terms of XP, so hopefully that will force a few more people out of AE. Not 'claims' exactly, it's in the patch notes and on the test server for anyone to try out. You get no XP for an enemy spawn that wasn't capable of having a minion, LT and a boss (didn't need to HAVE them, it just had to be able to spawn them if team size/difficulty needed them to). That largely gets rid of the boss farm issue. (Well, that part actually isn't in the patch notes, but it's how it's working) Also they nerfed custom enemy XP for things that aren't 'hard' or 'extreme', so people will get a pittance of XP for the really easy minions. (this part's in the patch notes) It's still a couple weeks on test, so I suppose something might change, but as it stands right now it looks like the AE farm issue will be much improved. In the meantime, I run across folks doing regular content fairly regularly, people running the TFs, doing the zone events, normal missions. Granted, by far the most vocal folks are the AE farmers, but it's certainly not everyone. |

One of the reasons I quit was the launch of player created content, people would just stand in those studios or whatever theyr called and farm 50/52 mishs because mobs gives almost twice as much exp as regular mission running does. The game is totally empty devoid of all people... And sure it may be great exp but... its insanely repetative, so il give OP my support.

I play on Freedom and I havent ever run into an issue of finding someone to team with. |

If you can't find a non farm team, you're doing it wrong. Seriously, I never have a problem finding teams and I'm on a smaller server. If you don't want to farm, you don't have to, no reason on quitting because of what other people are doing. Come i16, the amount of AE farms is going to be greatly reduced. |

In the search function, list yourself as "Looking for Missions." In the search notes, type "No AE." I've been doing it this way for awhile now on Freedom Server, and folks running missions out in the zones contact me within 30 minutes in roughly 3 out of every 4 sessions I do. In the meantime I just run solo stuff or enhance. __________________________ "...when it comes to pimping EVE I have little restraints." Yup, I do that too and it works great. In fact my search description has a brief list of which TFs I want to do and also says "NO AE, NO BLIND INVITES!" at the end. I still sometimes get blind invites from some idiots but so far only one guy has tried to harass me into joining AE missions and in his case I think it was mostly because he thought I was already in an AE team (which I wasn't) and he thought I didn't invite him. 1st day back yestersday.on protector villian side i wanted to try ae missions my self . did them for few hours .got invited to a hammi raid, did that then did ae missions till got my mm to 46 .had few offers for ae groups but their realy wasnt that many their. people were doing task forces etc. find out what the popular chat channel is on your server on the server boards on the forums .an ask for a invite their. youll get vetern players its like a sg out side of a sg.their was people in both chats pulbic an private asking for help in ae or regular mission archs. including radio missions (those were fun). the big gravy loot ones for ae missions must be secret now or their got low rateing cause they were abut same rewards as archs .tho archs seem to have more bonus probly to make up for travel time.where as with ae one can go an go.just insperations become a problem. not tried pvp yet but over all games still fun even solo.an some of the ae were great stories actualy.16 suposedly has a nerf to the pling oin ae from what i have read on the 16 discussion thread on coh forums. yeah i've noticed the same, i just returned and didn't play much before even tho it says i'm a vet i'm a noob..lol before when i played all i did was make a million alts trying out different power sets.think the highest i made it was 15 dom. made a emp/dark defender yesterday and he's 40 already.only invites i get are for AE but not complaining atm, i wanna try out the rest of the game but right now shooting for 1 50 so i can make a Warshade thats the class i want to play the game with. i like the defender well enough but keep hearing the WS is a hybrid wich is what i play the most in other games. and that dwarf form looks bad ass. i actually prefer the dominators but didn't seem to get any invites on my villians but i could just be in the wrong chats or something. like on freedom hero side AP seems to be the place with the most people and thats also teh starting area. what are the most popular villian servers? mine are also on freedom but not high enough that i couldn't remake them. |

Simply put CoH/V post AE is now worthless unless you only RP. No Supergroup/Villiangroup (Guilds to the non CoX folks) activity is going to be of much help except where RP is involved. AE totally disregards the entire pre-existing environment of the game for the sake of customizing single missions or single Arcs(3-mission set). PuGs under AE are focussed mostly on AE, don't expect to find many players willing to venture beyond AE. I cancelled my 60 month account after giving AE a few months to see if it would settle down, but to my dissappointment new players don't care about the rest of the game and far too many existing players are fooling themselves that AE is a great boon to the game. Because AE missions can be built to strictly present bosses(and therefore farming missions), the whole idea really destroyed what could have been a great implementation. And since AE doesnt' allow map building it essentially limits the variety to maps found in the game. I am waiting for i17/i18 to see if either brings balance back to the game, if neither does this I will be putting my account up for sale and totally wipe my hands of CoX. Anyone contemplating CoX should use a trial account and see for themselves how AE has become the centerpoint of the game. If you want to Roleplay a hero of villian and have friends who want to as well, then CoX will be fine, you'll have plenty of NPCs to face and the customization is great, but if you expect to find thousands of others to play with, well you'll be sorely disappointed. CoX, Goodbye and Thanks for all the Fish!

Yup I quit over a month ago because it was difficult to find teams outside of AE, RWZ raids hardly ever happens or task forces. When I do manage to team with some people they alls ay the same thing "I'm so damn tired of AE". SWTOR: sub ended, no thanks to Georg Zoeller! |
