The first and only MMO I've ever played is CoX. I've seen friends play Diablo, and I've played Warcraft III (I know - RPGs, not MMOs). Tried Tabula Rasa, but my system couldn't handle it. As you can see, my MMO experience is rather limited. While I have no intention of quitting CoX anytime soon, I sometimes get curious about other games.

Would there be any benefit to trying any others?

The less you expect, the more you'll be surprised. Hopefully, pleasantly so.

Depends on what you're looking for and what your system can handle.  I still play CoX, ever since SWG became the abomination it is today.  I play EVE too, but I mostly play CoX, and EVE is nothing but a break from the norm.  I played WoW and it's neat, but I feel it lacks the commradre of CoX, unless you can get into a cooperating guild, or suddenly get an epic level character.

I have tried other games, but none stand out with the cooperation and the ease on the system as well as the storyline and graphics fairly well put together as CoX in my opinion.  But I know there are plenty of people who want much much more.

Im Hawt.

I dont really see the point of asking since you obviously are ready to try something new, if you can handle CoX then you can handle WoW, ton of people play that stupid game for many months and years lol...

I myself am getting tired of my mmo... wish there was something different yet equivelent i could play RIGHT NOW, heh ... i even went and tried this tennis game online.

Its easy to pee in the toilet, but most of us dont.

“Game Experience May Change During Online Play” is about ESRB ratings, not changing game content!

Free trials are excellent to follow up on if you're looking to explore other options.  Perhaps you're looking for the sci-fi or the fantasy world.  Or a different sense of styling --  WoW focuses on atmospher and style quite a bit in its quests.  Or, perhaps you want more of a pvp element...AoC, WoW, DAoC, Lineage all can do that for you.

The key is to try and not fully judge a game because it has different dynamics.  You may not like it but try and judge it on its own merits rather than against another game such as the specatular City of Heroes franchise ( ' :

I certainly think there's benefit to learning about the genre. It might help you appreciate the pros and cons of CoX a little more, and if nothing else would enable you to participate in broader conversations about MMOs.

I also think we're still at the earlier end of a looong MMORPG trend. Learnign more about what exists now will help you guage what new offerings come around.

And I do think there is a bit of variety to be seen. Some are much more of a 1v1 combat, not our many-at-once kind. Some are all about having friends, soloers get squashed. The move from instance-based to open world, or not being able to outrun your attackers - these will shake your world up a bit.

I say it's worth a look and a couple of trials. I haven't found anything I like more than CoX (it's spoiled me in a few ways) but I do enjoy seeing how others try.

An amazing game with an easy learning curve, a great community, fast combat, incredibly easy to use social system including the best player search system i've ever seen (a system that never fails in finding you a team to play with), character customisation that far out ways any other mmo out there and a dev team that listens to its players.

A game i have played for 2 years plus and showing no sign of getting bored with.

Don't know if you can run it?
