“Game Experience May Change During Online Play” is about ESRB ratings, not changing game content!

So when I was in the AoC pvp beta about 7 weeks back, I was prompted to upgraded my video drivers....no big deal, mine were from November and several versions had been released since.  I updated them and played AoC just fine.

For the few weeks between then and Issue 12 I was just popping into CoX briefly (final papers and such took up too much time) and hadn't noticed any problems but since the release I started playing for chunks of hours at a time again only to notice that the video driver would keep crashing out.  I've since reverted from the current driver all the way back down to 169.12 which was the last one I had working since.  Every driver in between was doing the same thing.  Anyone else seeing issues with this?

I haven't played with it, but Nvidia and CoX usually get along. I checked my 8800 GT and the current driver version I'm using is 6.14.11.6902

Which probably isn't the newest, but I haven't had any problems with it so I don't go poking around.

Yes!  I'm having the same exact problem.  I have Vista and dual 8800GT cards.

I thought it might be a Vista issue, but I might have to try going back to the driver you mentioned since I don't play AoC anymore.

We should probably mention this issue on the CoX forums.

Yeah, I've actually posted there on the official forum  too but figured to give the heads up here as well.

Just an update -- the driver mentioned above has worked much better -- I've gone multiple extended sessions without a crash until last night so I guess ymmv.

Update 2 -- I can now consistently recreate the driver problem.  If I speak to Twilight's son in Oroborous, then the driver stops responding and the screen goes black.  Since reverting down, I think that's the only time it has been a problem.

edit: and yes I have bugged this and posted on the official forums too ( ' ;

Thanks for the info.  I'll track down that old driver and install it.
