I'm currently playing a dark/dark brute and i'm having trouble with cloak of darkness. It's a good def buff and it resists immobilise. I'm not complaining about that it's just it completly shuts down my costume. I cant see my avatar at all, i'm just some puffy smoke running around and baddies fall down for no reason. I put up with it for a while but now it's starting to get to me.

True enough. Stealthy people just have to get used to not seeing their costumes so much. With DA, you used to cover yourself in a coat of fuzz too, making it really impossible to see yourself. That was toned back a bit.

Cloaking device is really bad for that too. However, I believe Stealth (normal Stealth from the Concealment pool) doesn't make you quite so transparent. Neither does a stealth IO. Both make you a bit translucent, but not to that extent. So if it bothers you but you still want the effect, you might try swapping the power out for one of those solutions.

"Why are humans destined to meet those who will become important to them?"

never played a dark/dark brute, only a st/inv brute. for some time ago their powers had a bright glow, white and such. was OK for a while, but after a while I got bored with it, I didnt feel like a villain when I glowed like a lightbulb (good colours) and wrote that I suggested for darker colours. and after a while when I logged in, the powers had dark glows. dont know if they listened to me, and maybe other people. or that they have thought of it themselves. but felt like they listened. so write to them and see if you get any answear back. or else you might like he said, try other settings of powers.

but like I said, never tried a dark/dark brute so dont know how much of a "puffy smoke" you look like. or you can just think like that you are a super-beeing able to change from solid matteria into smoke. ^^

With cloak of darkness on you totaly vanish. There's nothing left not even a transparent shade of your avatar. If you have other toggles on you'll see those effects and if you have sonic buffs you'll see those effects but no avatar.

Not sure if i said here or in the feedback i sent, but it was ok for a while but now i just don't use it.

The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander.

Just adding a list of "invisibility" powers in case ANYONE reading this thread want to know.  The invisibility invisibility is a progressive concept and each AT has a cap...stalker cap is about twice higher than anyone else.

- Invisibility, 3rd power in the Concealment ALTERNATE POWER POOL, anyone level 14+ can take it if they take the 1st or 2nd power in the pool. (Mag 3, 55 Stealth, -100% threat level) A toggle.

- Grant Invisibility, 2nd power in the Concealment ALTERNATE POWER POOL, anyone level 6+ can take this power directly.  It give invisibility to a friend as a buff; not to you.  (55 Stealth)

- Stealth, 1st power in the Concealment ALTERNATE POWER POOL, anyone level 6+ can take this power directly.  (Stealth 35, -35% run/fly speed, +3.5% defense vs all).  A toggle.

- Phase Shift, 4th power in the Concealment ALTERNATE POWER POOL, anyone level 20+ with already any 2 powers in this set can take it.  (Stealth 20, Untouch 3, -100% threat level) A toggle.

- Super Speed, 3rd power in the Speed ALTERNATE POWER POOL,  anyone level 14+ can take it if they take the 1st or 2nd power in the pool.  PvE only for the stealth component.  (Stealth 35, -100% Threat level, +350% run speed)  A toggle.

IO unique (can be slotted in sprint) give a stealth of 35.  Remember, each point help as to get closer to your cap...rikti drones have a very high perception, other mobs have various amounts.

From now on, you MUST have a specific Primary or Secondary to take these powers.  Also note, there is an invisibility cap which vary based on your AT, a stalker cap is over twice higher than anyone else.

- Shadow Fall (Corruptors/Defenders/MMs), it is a group invi and a group buff.  A toggle.  (A Primary/Secondary Dark power)  (Team stealth 35, 5% defense vs all, 20% resist vs energy/dark energy and psi, mag 8,65 protection vs Fear and fear debuff duration -216,5%) (these numbers are for a defender, 75% for a corruptor/MMs, MMs get an extra decrease vs Fear)

- Cloaking Device (Blasters) (Stealth 35 and defense vs all 3.5%) A toggle.

- Cloak of Darkness (Scrappers/Brutes) A toggle. (Stealth 35, 3.75% defense vs all, mag 10 immobilise resist, 60% increase perception, resist perception debuffs)

- Energy Cloak (Brutes) A toggle. (Stealth 35, 3.75% defense vs all)

- Hide (Stalkers) A toggle. (Stealth 150, 5.63% vs all except psionic and 39.4% vs AoE)  Willpowers Stalkers have 5.5% defense instead, but include psionic.  I think this starting value is already higher than the cap of any non-stalker.

Smoke and smoke grenade debuff the perception by 90%.  Willpowers have a bonus to perception in Heighten sense, Super Reflexes scrappers/stalkers get a perception bonus of 60% with focused senses, Ninjutsu has a perception bonus of 60%, dark stalkers get a perception bonus with shadow dweller, tactics give between 36 and 65% perception bonus to the whole group (3rd in leadership alternate power pool), Clarity and Clear Mind give a bonus to perception and can be staked (buff).

The numbers are taken from Mid Heroes Designers.  I must have forgot a few powers here and there.

PS: About the glow around the character, I find it annoying to have my character glow change.  My invul name is Dia Mond...the concept is to glow like a diamond...hehehe, but well, not complaining too much on that...yet...wish you could choose it just like your aura.

I am currently playing a Martial Arts / Dark Armor Scrapper. I am using Cloak of Darkness all the time. You do indeed, vanish while using the power, but it is a toggle, so when not fighting or traveling in areas needing the invisibility bonus, you can always turn it off. I would say that Cloak of Darkness and Cloak of Fear are the signature powers within the Dark Armor set. The graphics while running either of these powers hide the avitar almost completely. It's one of the things I was expecting when I took the power set.

That is just the way some powers are.  Not just stealth powers and not all stealth powers do that.  Steamy Mist is fairly friendly in that way.  Whereas some fire auras and granite armor can be pretty obscuring.
