Tried with 2 yellows 2 reds and 1 purple and 1 orange, died. Had to try with 3 yellows and 3 reds to barely scrape by. On a simple +1 Lieutenant, this is not normal.

Well, those ghosts are either extremely powerfull, or extremely weaks.

 

They have a very powerfull self heal, but they need to "hit you" in order to self heal.  +1 level means he has a bonus to hit you and also on the healing amount.  They also have a very potent debuff running on you...very nasty in itself...so if you fight many thing...it make it harder for you.

 

Depending on your set, you should consider either using purples (oranges are useless here, as they will self heal anyway)...or affect them with status effect in a cool chain.

 

The trick is to deal MASSIVE damage fast, so they don't have the time to heal...or to kept them under a status effect...or to be untouchable (up to 4 purples hehehe).  They also have a tendancy to disappear and run...which is very bad cause when they come back, the first thing they do is a self heal on you...:P  Brutes, Scrappers, Blasters and any heavy single-target damage dealing character will kill these fast...Corruptors would need to time their attack appropriatedly in some case, so to start the real damage after they just heal...MMs might not even have understand this point as their pets are doing amazing damage. :P

Damage is not an issue. This lieutenant has "dark powers" Those powers hurt my accuracy and with his toggle on i had to pop 3 yellows boosting my accuracy by 75% to actually hit them around 51% of the time.

Try using up to 4 purples (you won't need 4), it will protect you from his debuffs as well as prevent him from self healing.

 

His "dark attacks" are doing less damage, but they are killers in 1 vs 1 as you already experience. :)

I was not aware that aoe acc debuff skills required an acc check. If it misses the first time, when will it be checked again?

Also what's the point of not getting hit and lasting as long as the purples if i can't hit it in that time?

I am unsure if the ghost use dark melee or dark powers from corruptors, so I will give the 2 explanations.

 

If dark melee/dark armor, each attack has a -ACC debuff, if the attack miss, you are not debuffed.  These debuffs STACK.  The heal might be automatic however, don't know dark melee that well, but preventing the debuff means that you will be able to hit it, and kill it between 2 heals.

 

If Dark/Dark corruptor, 1 debuff is an automatic hit, but most debuffs require a too hit, and again they all stack.   Having only 1 debuff is a lot better than having 4 debuffs all stack and running on you.  Then the heal is not an automatic hit and you must make sure the heal miss.  Making sure he can't heal while you have ACC issues is extremely important, as if he can't heal himself, you will kill it...eventually...when you hit.

 

It is also possible that ghosts follow different templates from time to time.  Just like when you fight Warriors, some 1 use a hammer, other sword, , other axe, and other baseball bat.

 

PS: Debuffs are all EXTREMELY powerfull in this game.  A debuff is about 3 times stronger than a buff.  Everything in that game is oriented around this logic.  And most debuff in a dark set require a too hit.  (tar patch and howling twilight are automatic hit, but the ghost doesn't use tar patch...and all other debuffs require a too hit).  You can check your stats, but I am sure the final debuff is a LOT more than 100% if all are stacked on you.

I told myself i woudnt post here anymore but here i go.

The fun really starts when you have a lieut with the aoe acc debuff and the minion with the dark melee debuff.

Anyway just buy 3-4 yellows, for every time you get that combo.

The AoE debuff follow you and emanates from you(howling Twilight).  The debuff is a toggle and would fade if you are too far or affect the ghost with a status effect.

 

So if you are many players, if you would run, the other would see the debuff comes and go as you move far/close to them.  But again, if you are many players, the ghost would be dead before you do that. :P

I belive the Lt specters you're talking about actually have a version of the dark power that isn't availble to players. They turn on a debuff toggle around them, not around their target.

So one answer is to learn to joust. Queue up an attack when out of range, then jump in (or past) so the attack activates while you're in the air. It will take effect before the buff hits it.

Also effective against Mary's Hurricane in they Croatoa TF, which is a much more significant debuff than anything those ghosts do.
