Thats the point, this game is nothing like eve. Its like a flight sim in space. However, saying EVE has been out longer is wrong, but thats only if you include Jumpgate Classic.

As long as it doesn't have a stupid time based skill system like eve it will be great. Eve is garbage just because of the fact that newer players can never catch up. Of course over at eve they want you to think you can, they need the subscribers :P. Anyways though, jumpgate looks awesome and i will definitely be buying it.

Hey well at least they are copying their trailer style from the best trailermakers in the industry. They even got the same woman that did the voiceover in one of the EVE trailers to do this one and the music is a pretty obvious copy too.
Beyond that though jumpgate evolution does look pretty sweet and I can't wait to try it out.

THIS, is what Eve needs, a backdrop of Evil added, basic factions fighting amongst themselves get really boring after awhile, but, add the hint of an enemy that can pop out of no where, and, either run from you, or, stand and fight based on the pilots skills, will bring Eve back up to an even stance to JE.

Ugh, although I like the trailer, and to the real Jumpgate fans, wasn't this out for a longer time on their website?
Second, why is everyone taking the stupid comparson between this and EvE online. EvE online is more of a Civilazation game, and this is going to be more like C&C Red Alert. Nothing wrong with both, but stop the wining about that one of these is garbage. If so, don't waste money with it, but also don't wast forum space. If you think that I am trolling, stop wasting oxygen too.

Ya, because it has spaceships, it's just like EVE AMIRITE?!? Do a little research before making a tard-like comment. I would really like to see how the controls handle on this game before I'll decide if I love it or not. It will be interesting to see if they've upgrade the controls from JG1 or left them the same. Ahhh, something different to play. Can't wait. :)

This game is so not eve. You have to fly your ship in JG. Eve is point and click crap. This game actually takes skill to fly and fight. This has been said a million times though.

Nice backgrounds, but flight sims can get very boring if the missions are exactly the same and the content never differs. Just like SWG JTL. I suppose we'll have to wait to be sure.

This game in all senses is very similar to Freelancer both in style of play and core mechanics.
It isnt like EVE (controlling large ships rather then manualy flying them).
Hope it will turn up free to play tho, cause I can get my fill of space sim (online) from Freelancer.

Okay so you fly differently than Eve but it's still just ship to ship play. Where does my pilot look like? Why can't we have a game that has both human(like) avatars AND flyable ships? (Don't give me SWG. We all know that's crap).

i like the way this game is made it gives a new boost to an old type of gameplay...however i do wish it had both human and plane so that one can dock at a station and explore the planet....this might sound something like the otherlands mmo but their idea of different worlds is a great concept that has chances to succeed in Jumpgate

Well hopefully the game is going to be a lot like Freelancer (Awsome game still even now) and not so much like EVE (tried twice and was not impressed), even bought X3 universe to just fly about the ships with the great graphics. And hopefully a large variabnce on starting styles / ships will be available for a bit spice. Ship visual configuration rather like character creation but same state multi classes.. Saw a lot of duplication in the movie. Touch wood they will give it what it needs. Great concept, could potentially love it. (I'm more sci-fi than fantasy fan)
- Freelancer
- Jupiter experiment
- Cant remember name old space game with awsome story line much like jupiter experiment but you could manufacture ships and coordinate them much like red alert comand and conqure but also zoom in to see them from a far as a single pixel or up close with lovley detail (and really old too) If that still worked on modern pcs and os's I would still play it.
