I got so much |
Original game had bad reputation as gankers heaven. And the new version seems to be quickly attracting same griefer/ganker players. Shame , really because JGE has potential.

Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids. |
Well any quality PvP game is designed around level/skill limits to prevent ganking players far weaker to effectively defend themselves. Just don't make PvP consensual or create too many safe zones which would make PvP carebearish. |
|
| With PvE raiding it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fauning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privelege. - Neanderthal |

There aren't a whole lot of choices for scifi MMO fans out there. Which is why it is so annoying when people tell you to play other games. Fantasy != sci-fi. I'm not going to play some elven infested crap just because people want a ganking playground on JGE. I want some great scifi gaming. When there are more choices in the sci-fi world I will leave this game alone. |

They cry all day about skill and challange, put them in a game and ALL they do is hunt out other players Far weaker then them kill them over and over and scream about how awesome they are. A "pvp" payer cares nothing about challange just making others live miserable as they run in a heart beat when anyone near the same level as them draws near. This is the only reason i don't like pvp games cause i find most AI mobs do things i dont expect far more often than any great pvp player, i know what ability they will use cause they all do the same thing at the same times in the same ways cause its 1337. WoW bored me so fast as my holy spec priest has only ever been defeated by a warlock in 27 duels, which i started at level 40 and Never dueled anyone my level or lower and 3 times out of 4 in the battelgrounds i tried i was usually the last to go down if we lost to horde. Simply cause i knew what they were going to do which forced me to do the saem thing over and over and it gets so boring at least fighting AI enemies i had to mix thing up to deal with them. |

Originally posted by Illyrian Personally I've actually PLAYED the original jumpgate and it had full PVP available just like JG:E is planning to. I am a PVE and a PVP player. I like both. TBQFH the original catered to both crowds just fine and I don't see any reason why the new version wouldn't as well. People really need to quit pontificating about 'how the game should be' and just wait and see what the developers come up with before going off on their high horses about 'this game should have this, that, etc'. The devs of this game have done a phenomenal job over the past several YEARS with Jumpgate, there's no reason to think that won't continue with Jumpgate: Evolution.

I still play JGC and I agree that the existing PVP/PVE setting in JGC has worked for the larger part but that won't be possible in JGE with the larger subscriber base that NetDevil will be hoping for. The griefer always has the advantage in choosing to engage or not to engage. If the cavalry shows up in a much more powerful ship or in greater numbers and the griefer will simply run away and log off. The griefer looks for the lone miner or the fat hauler lumbering along any one of a number of circumstances that gives them an advantage. They may or may not try to extort cash from the victim, but their only real desire is to take away something from the other player and that is their entertainment. |

I don't think the hardcore PvPers can be reasoned with. Here is the deal ... People who like PvE and limited/optional PvP, like me, voice our opinions. The hardcore PvPers voice their opinions. We all vote with our dollars and see who the developers listen to.

Keep in mind that JGE will be out to make money first and foremost. So if they dont cater to PVE in some way, form, or fashion, it will likely go the road of the original (small fan-base, etc). There's already a PVP-centric space MMO on the market so why wouldn't JGE use this opportunity to try and draw in some of the PVE market? If JGE can make both sides satisfied, this game stands a great chance to draw in people who are tired of sword-swinging MMO's. Personally, I prefer more PvE over PvP but the ability to PvP is fun too. It's just hard to PvP with a cig in one hand and a beer in the other |
