One of the problems with games that are PvP-centric and also from devs with limited resources, is cheaters.  Every game has cheaters—I can accept that—but how fast the company deals with them is crucial.

To those of you that played JGC, how well has NetDevil handled this problem?

PINUTBUTTER!

If I wanted to know this, I would go to a forum of an official JG fansite. That way you know for sure you're dealing with current players.

Hell, there might already be threads about banned cheaters and hackers.

Just an suggestion.

To be frank they are just hotdogs, their girls are relish, and they need to ketchup on their pimpin.

Two main types of cheat concerns here.

First, player-based cheats:

When I played the original JG several years ago I don't remember anyone using aim-bots or any hacks of the sort.  At least, I never saw them.  Which means that a) they didn't exist b) NetDevil ran a clean game or c) the folks that had them kept their mouths shut and didn't share.

Second, AFK-bots:

This sort of thing is prevalent today in games where currency is an issue.  I don't recall there being that many bots AFK mining or running missions or w/e because... well, because basicly you get shot by a player and if we didn't get you the NPCs would.

Either way I rememember JG being a pretty clean game.  All games are dirty, just how much is the real question.

Im not sure.. I only knew few that were banned for cheating.. I know they dont like cheaters.. and in FPS games its taken very seriously.. especially when you got the PVP statpadding crowd as your customers.

This matter can be more fully addressed by our community management and support staff once the product releases, but I assure you we take cheating very seriously.  We are certainly building tools into JGE that should empower our support staff to do what is necessary for enforcement, and of course as unexpected situations arise post-release (they always do) we intend to react promptly to give our support team additional capabilities, as needed.
