So how many old accounts do you think are going to log back in because of this. I know I'm thinking of dusting off the ol thrustmaster afterburner. |

I know I will definitely be coming back to this. It was my first and in my opinion the best MMORPG I've played, alongside SWG pre-CU. Right now, I see nothing worth playing, so I will be sticking to my Xbox 360 until this comes along. |

@TheRag I'm aware that there are some people still playing but AFAIK they were averaging about 25 logged in when they took down the online pilots counter on JOSSH. Of course that was before they merged the US and EU servers. I meant no disrespect to those with the grit to hang in there. Otherwise, I'm probably the only one with this concern, but I have to admit this talk of becoming "more accessible" sends a shiver down my spine. I'm by no means an elitist or even what most would call "hard core" but that's the sort of talk that usually doesn't end too well imo. Granted JG was never a real big game I don't remember too many 300 player nights. But it got by fine on 200-250. I remember sitting outside the station in Quant Core (in 2001-02 mind you) watching in awe as what seemed like dozens of -MACK- tows pulled in to dock like ducks landing on a pond, while it was all I could do to keep from leaving one of my poor gust's engines dangling from the tube. It's still one of those games that I find myself talking to friends about in a "those were the days" kind of way. Anyone remember Rollio and Morgan? TS was a blast when those guys were on the prowl. My server sounded like the aircraft carrier from Top Gun until one of my squaddies managed to down Morgan's ranger (which were uber at the time) in a head-on at which time it exploded with cheers and falling headsets as people danced around their computer rooms. Always felt like I was a tourist as i wasn't one of the elite guys. But I can think of worse things to be. I've been chasing that type of experience ever since. See now I'm getting all nostalgic.

I for one am an old vet of this game, havnt played in a long time though. I used to have a lot of entertaining times making morning stars & selling them to both sides in a big battle. or getting to agreesive while mining & crashing on the roid. and who can forget the times when they forgot about Emma, on the way to hyperial :) |

Oh, I will *so* be on this. I loved the old JG days and I really miss all of that. I always dreamed about a new and improved Jumpgate over the years. I recently tried Vendetta Online but it was not quite the same. It wa missing a lot of the Jumpgate feel and the flight mechanics were dumbed down quite a bit. Close but no cigar.

Wasn't Emma an asteroid that was exactly in the path to Hyperial and that was in sort of a dark spot so you couldn't see it until it was too late? My memories of JG are a little fuzzy after all these years. |
