I played this game at release and it is a good game. I was going to point you to the official webpage, but could not even find the info on their site! I suppose you have to create an account to get to know the fee. But if I remember correctly it is the usual fee, somewhere around 15$. The client is free though.

An alternative is to get Voyage century online since it is the same game but free to play with an item mall. However I usually like monthly fee games better.

If you are looking for a pirate/sea trading MMO you should also check out Pirates of the burning sea. But I must say that Bounty bay online actually plays a little better, and has a more interesting setting, but that is a very subjective opinion and most people probably won't agree.

Anyway a link to the offical site:

http://bbo.yusho.de/en/Startpage/

I suppose the info about the monthly fee should be hidden there somewhere...

i was in teh PotBS Beta and I did not really like it. Judging from the first ten hours of gameplay, this game lacks the complexity and sea-battle dynamic BBO has. imo BBO>VCO>PotBS

I think BBO is well worth a try, especially that it also comes with a 10 day free trial and a free downloadable Client. There is no risk and if played over ten days, I think you'd be pleasantly suprised if you're into Pirates and role play with sailing ships etc.

Don't know it was slagged off in earlier press and didn't do well in the mmorpg polls. Guess it was assumed this was just like VCO; which couldn't further from the truth!

There are plenty of refugees on board from VCO who say the subscription fee based version, BBO is far better with extremely good GM support!

Yes met quite a few ex VCO players who dropped their accounts there and came to BBO after the free 10 day thing. A few told me in the ten days here they got farther then they would have in VCO and it did not cost them a single euro to do it.  I think the best comment was something about getting to lvl 10 bs and not costing him a few months salary to do it.  well, i like it and its not that much per month.
