Never played Neocron before? ::
If you prefer your mmorpg to be SciFi based, in an FPS style, and have never played Neocron before, this could be the game for you. It's actually a very cool cyberpunk style game with months worth of content to keep you going. It's a low number player base now. Perhaps 2000 subscribers (250 on a server usually). It's enough though, and people do help you with weapon making, items and information. Amazingly there are still plenty newbie killers on the servers (just leave in your protection chip if this bothers you). You would think with only 2000 subscribers left, the griefers would lay off the new guys, but ooooooh no.

If you have played Neocron before! :
I a nutshell, I wouldn't bother. People that remember the time when the servers were rammed with players probably won't enjoy the ghost town feel Neocron has now. The majority of players left all seem to be maxed out, making becoming a trade person pointless. If you saw and played most of the Neocron world before, it all pretty much the same as it was 4 years ago. Play the trail again and make your own mind up.

This game failed for a number of reasons:
1. Griefers. Every game has them, but they were especially attracted to Neocron.
2. Bugs, and the failure of Reakktor to fix them quickly.
3. Reakktor actually listening TOO much to whining players, and constantly fiddling with the player classes, and game content. The players aren't always right.

One day, a mmorpg will come out using a lot of the innovation of Neocron, and hopefully they will learn from the mistakes make by

Yep, it's come out... It's called Face of Mankind, one of the developers was a major neocron player. Unfortunately, Duplex Systems hadn't learned a damn thing from Reakktors mistakes. =(

Neocron still has a chance I believe, a long shot though.

Thing is, no one can advertise cyberpunk and it is really annoying.

I have spent about 4 years playing NC/AO, and I can say cyberpunk is a great community that doesn't have a way to become large. Play one of these games, both will excite you, both will grief you, both will deliver with patience.
