I would give it another shot. I tried the trial and almost quit, but I stuck with it for the first month and then got hooked. The game is very well done and better than most commercial releases currently running. But, be aware that there are some problems, specifically: - Low player population - Client is still a bit unstable - Many zones (especially wasteland zones) have few mobs - Your character will cap pretty quickly (say, 3 - 4 months of normal play) - You WILL get pked if you remove your Law Enforcer The biggest problem is the low number of players. The game is plenty big enough for 5X the number of people who currently play. I play on Pluto and the max anyone will see on there is 200 or so. If more people would play, it would introduce a dynamic that would make this the top MMOG. The level cap is supposed to be increased with the Dome of York expansion which is overdue. It will be a free upgrade (so I'm told) and will spark of flurry of player activity as numerous level 60+ players invade the DoY. Now would be a good time to get started. NC > DAoC > EQ > UO > fecal matter > leper's oily rags > SW:G ----- When they make The Elder Scrolls into a MMORPG, what bit of a life I currently have will completely evaporate. |

I think that this game should have an opportunity. I tried the beta and open and was playing for a few months... left it because had no time to play and on the following months have tried some finals and betas of other 3D games out there... and... no one like Neocron, its fast and easy to play... Im thinking about playing it again ! |

I really liked this title but I had a problem because it would not display properly on my computer. The D3D would not render correctly on my Radeon 9200, so I had to step back and try something else after updating my drivers and updating Direct X. It began to make me dizzy after awhile similar to the effects of WWIIO, lol, was that game a doozy.

I think Neocron should really do a free-client download and 30-day free trial, kind of like AO did. I really enjoyed the game when it first came out, but the rules with the LE chip were very strict at the time. Of course, during the first few weeks I could walk around without the LE chip and only rarely get PKed - but that was starting to change. Anyway, I think the LE chip is more "user-friendly" now, and I really did love the theme / atmopshere of Neocron.
