You reap what you sow.

I played Neocron for around a year, and agree with everything here, game with huge potential ruind only by the dumbass game staff.

The first thing you have to know before you play is ignore anything and everything that comes out of any of the staff, especially Nidhoggs mouth, He talks alot of bullshit on a daily basis, and if you question him you get banned on the spot.

The Neocron 2 upgrade killed the game for sure, it made a badly made game a whole lot worse, and to make it even more worse it started off using a porn site payment system, i am not sure if they have alternatives now but it wasnt only that that was bad, it was EXTREMELEY insecure, I would never trust my card with these people.

Anyway I would advise against ever touching neocron again, even if you playe dit and liked it before like me.. as now they have officially screwed it and are every day trying to cover theior ass.. and yes i believe it did deseve the 25% review rating if not less. it has got worse, and to call it an update is insulting.

if KK had of decided to sort out NC1 before releasing a poor rehash of the old game but with less fun involved they might of been in a better position now.

you can say nc now is for hardcore gamers but imo thats rubbish.

back early retail all the servers were full(nc1 retail that is) and that was with red sl pkers, item drops and other fun things that were pre patch 160.

yet patch by patch kk kept taking the fun out of the game that by end of NC1 retail coupled with the endless cockups(see end of NC1 saturn retail for that one)very few people were playing, NC2 arrived a fuck all of the people i played with made it.

when you take a clan like cartel and concider the size and then come NC2 you see that there is maybe 3 people from that clan playing, or take FLR only 1 of them made it, 101st only 4 or so made it.

yet KK still carry on fucking around.

people didnt want NC2 they wanted a Neocron that worked the way it should of done.

i came back to NC2 a few times yet like the guys i played in followers of crahn with, they were all saying what a peice of junk the game was, now we were all people who loved NC1 and had so much fun, and would of continued to do so, if KK had fixed problems instead of making a half baked expansion.

time and time i came backk to check out NC2(to the mocks of Zoneseek and others)but you know what they are right.

even as much as the recent patch shows as much, stealth back in the hands of PEs, stupid things like that and continuing to have para in the game.

ppus still fucking up the game play, i know of no other game off top of my head where the healer class is so god like.

kk should of balanced hybrids instead of creating two new classes that even after 2years they still havnt balanced.

only a miricale will get be back playing NC now, ive deleted it off my system along with pretty much anything else i had to do with the game.

and as for the forums theres only so long that you can say that there is multiple sections and that it is still busy as ever cos thats crap, the forum is slowly dying, fewer people posting, very few of them care it seems.

you have lost pretty much all the people in the community who actually done things.

and it did seem funny when you critisized those reviews saying they havnt tested the inter release, yet it is basically the same and tthere reviews stand as true.

hesnot wrong about the community, but thats been in decline for long time, lotta good people left, now you basically got the worst of the lot, with the exception of a few.

and im not just talking about the stuff that goes on the trade channel, few people help noobs, but then most of the vets who used to help have all beeen driven away.

you could take it as a compliment that people despite not playing still feel so strong about the game, but you shouldnt do, its a failure that you were not able to hold on to the peple who loved the game.

well no empty promises of "such and such will make the game better" or "the next patch will have great stuff init"

only thing that would get me back is actual results in the game(and perhaps some changes to hybrid via the execution of apus and ppus )

Stop complaining Celtor, I trialed the game and never found any bugs nor errors in the game, it was fun and enjoyable, I switched to SWG because I found Neocron didn't have any interesting professions like in SWG, you can train for Jedi, but in Neocron, only ? (cant remember number of prof) prof and in SWG you can place your house nearly anywhere you can place it or in a Building area, and in Neocron, you have to go in this ONE down that your are spawned after you exit your apartment in the beginning of the game when you first spawn.Please do not post about perspective crap telling me something is better when a group of adults created a crap game that I played and said its crap, I dont know the contents that were suppose to be included but with my comp, it was one of My Top MMORPG other than SWG (Star Wars Galaxies).I might have played WOW and stopped playing it but I had to try it since it looked cool

dude, I just didn't, I believe in my theory that sometimes your lag/ping might cause if you are doing a mission to make the objective disappear, my theory isn't proven but in SWG, I feel it is a fact since I hear people complain that they do a specific mission and the objective dissapear, the two games (SWG and Neocron2) might have already proven my theory as fact but I dont know,

Sad thing is this game had an awesome concept. A friend and I played it through the trial with the DOY expansion. It was still fun. I liked the fact that you didn't have to spend weeks into the game to get vehicle.
One thing that realy ruined my gameplay is hunting in the wild with our higher level friends when some guy just comes and kills us all... over and over and over (since we saved at a nearby terminal). Realy ruined it.
I was hoping the game would be harsh and PVP oriented, but this kind of stuff was just horrible. A level 80+ (or whatever level her was) killing lvl 15-20s and some mid 40s. When I asked him "Can you please stop you are ruining our fun?" the reply was "need faction sry"

No wonder this game is a ghost town.

No, they haven't..

I logged in, not to long ago.. Last for about 2 days before I removed it from my system again. The game is just not any more different than when I originally left. This is what I can say about its current state.

- Still low server populations, between 100 - 200 people.. Most of these people are in in the Top 10 clans within the game, so no variety in clans anymore. I guess if you like to solo hunting mobs, its the best time to do it, since populations are so low, chances of running into anyone is low. Compared to the old days when you were always checking over your shoulder before engaging against a mob.

- DoY (city) is still a mess.. lots of doors that go into areas that have nothing in them... Still the same maze to get around... and no one is ever around. Its just not FUNCTIONAL for any kind of city dwelling, so you'll find most DoY faction members at TH.

- Bandwagoners dominate the scene, but this is no different than any the MMORPG out there.

- PPUs are still demigods.. APUs still rape in combat.

- No REAL new content compared to when we tried closed/open/retail version of NC2. The next patch will have new bars for DoY *spin my finger* Wow.. how exciting.

- Dungeons look the same, or they've did some little additions in an attempt to make them look different. Oh, the best is when I went into a DoY area and it was a NeoFrag map with some minor changes to make it look different.

- Most RARE chips (SF, SS, ect) drop in the Tunnels now, so no need to farm mobs to get rare parts for them anymore.

The only way this game would've survived between versions is offering a completely new map / area for us to game in, and not JUST DoY city or Hacknet (which is still a mess). Most expansions for any MMORPG out there offer a whole new map / area to explore, quest, hunt ect ect in.

But, it really comes across that NC2 is geared towards the newbz, and not the vets.

When it was slated for release pretty much everyone in the beta said NOOO ITS TOO SOON TO RELEASE IT!

but of course they did.

DOY was way to much of a maze so DOY enemys could get in the city and it would be nearly impossible to find them.

for a while there was a sniper in the city and no one could find him cause theres so many shadows...

hacknet....well hacknet was buggy and was insane to get around in (falling off the side sucks)

NC1 was much better and NC2 should have released as a free expansion like they said it was going to be.

Too bad that KK felt that only have a few fulltime devs would cut it for upholding and maintaining a game. The quality of coding in that game, makes it very easy to assume that they have few fulltime devs, and that they hire college programming students to work for the sweat shop.

Needless to say, when Retrobooster left KK, that was quite a blow to them and the game suffered for it ever since.

NC2 is not quite dead, but its populations are dwindling on the razors edge for quite awhile now. They just banned an undisclosed amount of players for using various hacks, which I don't disagree with them doing it, but its probably hurting their numbers even more now.

I've also been talking to some friends who I used to play the original NC with, and a bunch of them have ran back to NC1 (Uranus is still up) to play there now.

Just done some raiding in BWL (wow) and decided to randomly check sites.

Decided to click neocron to have a laugh, its amusing nidhogg (someone who Ive had problems in the past for making stuff up and not being straight a couple years ago) is still around. Goes to show you what sort of leadership they have (lack).

I have to give props for finding people willing to still support what went from a decent game to an absolute and outright bundle of lies, but I have to take away points for have no morales and continuing to do so. At some point realize life is more than a cash grab and find something that you dont merely have to milk to get by.

That being said, enjoy your so called sequel!

unless you're in a top clan, you spend most of your time looking for other actual human players to interact with either in hunting or pvp. good luck fnding someone unless you just go between the main three zones with people ;\

waste of time, waste of money, potentially a great game yet KK fucks it up time and time again

wonder how many people have to leave before KK learn.

on the nid thing, never had a problem with him on forum, wasnt happy about him not letting a few of us kill some Fa guys back in the day tho
