Hopefully we won't dissapoint along that front. We have roughly 1200 years of lore within our timeline from modern earth circa 2000 to the 3200's where we'll first drop you on a remote planet of K-9WD-Gamma. Oh yeah naming the planet is part of the players responsiblity, we only gave it its scientific name/location.
