Yup. Sadly, another promising MMO that goes in the trash bin; I still hope they do manage to reorganize or maybe another publisher will pick the game...but chances are slim...very slim... |

Heh core management and founding team members still there....That means there is absolutely no chance for this game to ever make it........Everyone knows management never gets anything done its the workers that make business go...... |

Flagship hasn't closed down yet. Flagship would officially announce their closing; which they have yet to do; so they're still open. Probably, the reasoning behind why Mythos is going on a hiatus would be the law suit with Hanbitsoft. They probably can't afford to fight the legal battle as well as pay the dev's to keep working on Mythos; thus they suspend the game and focus on winning against Hanbitsoft. Some more information on this issue: http://www.massively.com/category/legal/ "Kim Ki-young of HanbitSoft states: "If we can take intellectual property rights of relevant products from Flagship Studios, we have confidence to develop the games ourselves based on T3 Entertainment's advanced technology' " HanbitSoft owns a 9.5% stake in Flagship Studios. We know they don't actually own the IP rights of Mythos and Hellgate, and they own a very small portion of the company; this dampens their chances of winning. I’m not even sure what grounds they’re suing Flagship on; if it’s over the IP rights, they lose, if it’s over “negligence” the judge will just laugh at them, and they will lose. I find it absolutely hilarious that Kim-Ki said this: "Flagship not only lacked effort, but were only looking for personal gain. Firing all of the Flagship employees in order to protect the personal interests of its founding members only shows how selfish and irresponsible they are." http://www.massively.com/category/legal/ It's a business, if they weren't in it for personal interests I would be appalled and the games would probably suck. It is quite obvious that they did not lack effort; I mean just look at Mythos' overworld. They laid off the Flagship employees to stay in business to, yes, make money. But oh, no! That's Capitalism. Now these men have to find new jobs; how terrible. But luckily capitalism supplies these men with the opportunity to find new jobs; so whatever, they’re selfish; who cares? The owner's are interested in making a profit, so from a business standpoint, what makes more money: A shitty game that explicitly is trying to rip people off with its bad game play and ridiculous fees; or, a fairly priced game with great game play and massive appeal? It's important to remember that it is never in one's own rational self-interest to create a product that is of horrible quality just to try and rip people off; 100% of the time the game will flop, and, if you operate under fraud, you go to jail. So, Hanbitsoft's “name-slinging” won't get them very far in court; and I think it's a very virtuous thing to be selfish; if a company didn't do what was in their best interest, companies wouldn't exist and we wouldn't have any products. Hanbitsoft better lose this case; I am pretty confident they will because they really don't have enough grounds to sue them (from what I've read, there could always be other bits of information I've missed, but since the legal hearings have yet to start it's all pretty much just rumors). Anyways, either way Mythos will most likely get finished; I think Hanbitsoft would be interested in making money off of Mythos (because that's what business men do, make money), and if Flagship wins, they'll definitely finish it to A) make money and B) erect a monumental middle finger towards Hanbitsoft.
