Flagship Studios, the company behind Hellgate: London and Mythos, is closing up, and the rights to Mythos have gone to Korean distributor Hanbitsoft, with no word about when/where/whether there will ever be an American distributor for the game now.

None of this is official. Although FSS haven't come out with an official response (which means all this is can be true, and no matter what something fishy is going on), all the sites that claim FSS has gone down all pretty much link to eachother, leading back to one post from VE3D that states Taylor Balbi (FSS Community Manager) told VE3D that the studio closed. Taylor Balbi, on the other hand, states that he never talked to VE3D.

The hellgate official forums are obviously on fire, but continuous playful postings from Forum Manager Scapes and Ping0 official Tiggs seem to be sending good vibes (or deceptive vibes) to the players. An official statement is said to be released monday.

That's the exact post. Taylor Balbi has stated he never communicated with VE3D. Other than his one statement that denies that article, Flagship Studios sent 1 official email to Hellgate Guru on friday stating that all the claims are false. They also do not work on weekends, so FSS Official Forum Moderators are saying wait until Monday.

That means they didn't speak with Taylor directly. While I certainly hope all this is rumor, I've been directly affected by mass layoffs and the denials you've seen are very common.  It's basic "damage control". If Taylor is the source of the verification, as the article claims, he's in CYA mode. 

It'll be interesting to see what comes out in the news tomorrow.

if its not in the official site, then its not true

if you still believe in the rumours, then let me start a new rumour by saying that WoW and blizzard is going to be sold to the chinese and all current blizzard staff are going to be fired and will be replaced by chinese programmers. they will then change the name of blizzard to brizzald and world of warcraft will be soon called word of walclaft
