i've heard ppl say taht PW is like WoW but idk. so what's your opinon on the subject?

     PW is OK for a free game but is not in WoWs league.......

pretty much.  WoW has better - Combat, PvE questing system, leveling system.

PW has a better endgame if you enjoy territory control, which is the thing i love the most so for me PW > WoW by miles.

I like WOW a lot better.

 There will never be a free game that will be bether against a p2p.

A F2P game will never be like WoW. Especially one like PWI. PWI is all about hack 'n slash for the first 10, 15 levels. Things don't change much from there (except the addition of PvP).

WoW is not hack 'n slash, and the community actually talks.

Actually when playing PWI I've had to turn off a few channels mainly because people talk TOO much. The community is very helpful and will help you with almost anything and tell you what to do (thats one of the things the game is based around). Hell, I remember speaking for a few hours with a couple dutch guys and girls who barely spoke english. This is the first time I ever heard of the community actually being silent (even though I haven't played for a few weeks due to being busy).

The game PWI is based on (the p2p version) is actually hailed as the "WoW of Asia" and has made a considerable amount of money. So the idea might not be as far-fetched as some people think.

I like PW alot. Its the best FTP game out right now. Is it better than WoW? That a question that going to based on the opinion of the player. Some will say yes and some will say no. I for one dont like WoW at all but I respect it for what it is.

Its a free WOW gone horribly wrong.

There are way more free MMOs, why even stick to this one?

Perfect World is horrible, combat system is horrible

Animations are crap too

But, I guess the flying system is kinda cool. but simply the thought of it

This game is fun. Flying is really really nice convenience.

WoW you can reach maximum level in under two months of extremely casual play.

Perfect World you can never reach maximum level under hardcore playing conditions in less than a year, and you must use cash shop items to do that.

That said, PW if fun flying around until about level 40. Then the quests are something like 7 ones you do over/over/over/over/over.

Honestly, reading half of the replies on here bashing PW basically made me laugh right off of my seat. Honestly, people, you got no idea just what makes a good MMORPG these days. I'm thinking half of these people are those that think WOW was the very first MMORPG. Believe me, I've seen people who think that way. Makes me want to smack them 5 times right on the spot.

Wow is a horrible MMORPG that is based off of a good strategy game. I mean, seriously, the game is only so popular because it's predessor strategy games, StarCraft and Warcraft, had so many followers around the world. Combined, over 17 million units were sold. It's no surprise some large amount of those players would decide to play the MMORPG built by people that gave them such great strategy games. And then, of course there is going to be little kids playing it because they think it's cool.

But PW, it has fundamentals from some of the more superior MMORPG's, such as EverQuest and Dark Age of Camelot. It has story behind it's quests, an involved leveling system, challenging monsters (generally speaking), and a wide variety of weapons for use by everyone. It is true that everyone in the game actually helps you when you ask for help. And the guild system is quite concise. Not to mention the fact that they are constantly evolving the game, fixing minor bugs, and making sure the game is fun for every level.

Warcraft has absolute 0 to do with Starcraft. You obviously don't have a clue what you're babbling about.

That would be like saying that Max Payne is the predecessor to Duke Nukem 3D.

Also Everquest and definitely Dark Age of Camelot are not quality MMOs. Anyone that thinks DAoC is superior to anything but the feces I just filled my toilet with, is living a lie like no other.

People like you are the reason why there are so many shitty MMOs out right now. It's because you lack every bit of knowledge of what makes a MMO and most of all, you refuse to obtain this knowledge because the previous MMOs are too challenging. You're lazy, don't get too angry about that because conformity is definitely in this generation's nature like no other. Time will only tell.

Until then, you should really refrain from visiting this site for a while. I'm just saying, if you knew anything about a MMO.... you wouldn't say that.

I think comparing PW and WoW is irrelevant.

WoW is far better than any MMORPG.

But it's expensive so i play Perfect World.

And it's awesome!

Whereas PWI lacks the tons of lore, accessability, and brand recognition that WoW enjoys, it is by no means a bad game. Just different. But there will always be ones that fear or try to demolish anything new and original, so the point of making this comparison is completely moot.
