Im thinking about trying our Perfect World www.perfectworld.com.my/
Who has the experience here...looks very interesting with several character types, PvE and PvP centric and a host of skills, not to mention free to play. |

Let me share with you some thoughts before you download the 1 gig client. I found that game to be a pretty average overall. Although I saw somewhere that it's the Asian version of WoW, I personally think it's far from that (and I'm no WoW fan either). Some little things about the game really annoyed me. For example, if you are running away from a monster, then decides to shoot it, your character would sometimes shoot in the direction that you were running towards and your arrow would still do damage. Not to mention the game control was, from my perspective, really awkward. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you do decide to download and play then you might realize what I mean. On another note, the grind is probably not that bad due to the fact that there are plenty of quests, which would have been a good thing if the quests weren't so boring... Most of the quests I did were of the type "go to this person and get this item", "deliver this to that person", "go to this person to learn this skill", or "kill this many monsters and get back to me". But if that's your idea of fun questing, then by all means go for it. Anyhoo that's my two cents, other people's opinions may vary, but in the end it's your decision. Good luck with the game! |

Actually, I kind of like the game, the two elf classes can fly immediately and the other classes later on around 30 or so. Not sure what he means about controls, I certainly have had no problems with them. Graphics are good and the best thing, the client is really very well written, even with lots of players on screen I notice no lag. To give you some perspective, I finally deleted Atlantica Online because I just got extremely tired of lagging every time a few people showed up on the screen. Of course the combat was really lame too which did not help. There are only 6 classes, the pet class, the venomancer is the most popular because it is the easiest by far to level, but you will have a harder time getting in a good guild because there are so many of them. The weakest class is the elf cleric class, it is almost mandatory to group after 20 with them, they die extremely quick and the 5% experience death penalty can make level go extremely slow. I leveled every class to 20 and found them all fun to play. I would say the download is worth it. Now a word of caution, the store is quite expensive compared to other f2p games. But I think you can play without it. |

Thanks again. Cool...no hurt in downloading and test-driving it. |

If you like the look and art style of Perfect World, then I'd suggest looking into Aion: the Tower of Eternity. It isn't out yet, but you can find a slew of in-game trailers and numerous fansites. It will be P2P so if you are against that, then it wont be for you.
It's almost 2010, and I am just not wiling to tolerate clunky graphics while being told that "gameplay is more important than graphics". That excuse won't wash with me any more. I expect my games to have both good graphics and good gameplay. |
