I quit pwi at level 54 cleric not because grinding i can bear with grinding but because this game is laggy more then any game out there, I have gameing PC and 30mb download/ 10mb upload internet. How I see lag? any skill you use or even when you die you see things happen after 2-3 seconds ... for example i have 30% hp left in my screen but in reallity im dead, or i hit a skill i see the animation for it 2-3 seconds later so thats what made me go away from game also in the main city so many bazaar and people that you're laggy like hell.

It's laggy for you because you either got a bad internet connection or you're pc ain't up to date.

When I play I never have any lag, and my laptop is 3 years old, very outdated...

Try playing with graphic at the lowest, if you're still lagging and your pc is good enough, it's your internet that isn't good enough. By not good enough I mean you might have to open some ports on your network. The settings could be wrong, thereby keeping it limited.

If you read above I said I have a gaming PC that means its a pc made for gaming I played every game there is out there with high rez and never had problem also I have a ps3 and games for ps3 that i have on pc look the same play the same, also I said my internet is very fast and I work for comcast I actually install and service internet so ports and stuff is my job. Let alone I study networking. The game has issues but I guess you have an old pc and you're happy that the game plays...

Well can you then explain why I with my crappy laptop can play the game with no lagg at all?

Even if your super gaming pc and fast internet is good enough, you're settings might be wrong for this particular game.

its not really on how fast your internet connection is, the majority will have lag in this game if the dam server is in malaysia and a top end gaming rig like mine in the uk or a shit hot internet connection like yours it wont make a diffrence, just get the ip of the server and run tracert and see how many jumps to the server you are making and at what speeds, this will vary by which isp provider you use but this is where it goes wrong for a lot, idealy you want around 10-20 jumps at no more than 1.5 anymore than this and welcome to lag city which dont suprise me when the dam server is in malaysia lol

Current - Lotro, SwG

Offline - WaR, Aoc, EvE, CoV, Champions, Aion, Vanguard, Guildwars, EQ2, WoW(omg 3.5yr)

Future - The Old Republic/ StarTrek

The international version server is based in the US.  as for the lagg problem graphics lagg is about the only thing not reliant on the connection speed/stability.

Personally I don't even consider it lagg until it reaches a 10s + delay and have become accustomed to 20+s delays 8*)

ps still noob, still low lvl, and am still enjoying the eye candy 8*).

just having fun

your issue? is it pve or pvp

if its pve lower you might need shadow off

pvp there nothing you can do its ALL  game even wow

yes if you lower graphic setting it will lower lag but im not sure you ll still play that game

wow has less lag issue because they got the money to put best shit and even then they still get lag

microsoft will put out a new techno next year probably wich will enable massive amount of mmo pvper to fight say close to 1000

vs 1000 with minimal lag for now mm might need to lower screen resolution a lot lower

when you speak about ps3 please refrain tu use those as an exemple why

ps3 hz screen thing is set at 25 or 30

for us in computer gaming the lowest i can got with my 8800gt is 59 herts

and this my friend makes the biggest difference i wish we could still lower this seting to 32 like i used to but nvidia blocked that setting

and no mather how fast your connection is if PWI TOOK A 1MB/S your speed demon will top at 1mb/s the only advantage  to a big connection like yours is that you could probably strteam and upload 30 or 40 diff movie at the same time while playing pw

and streaming music

lol

Troll powers activate!

Not going to rant just going to say I agree with any Negative reviews of this game, any of them, this is my single least favorite MMO of all time :)  Have fun playing it if you like it though, hehe.

Troll powers off!

:P who is going to play Aion?

I played until level 50+ with an archer and levelled a few other alts for doing lower level grinding for items my main needed.

I quit after having run the same mining trail for the umpteenth time. After having spent real money on crafting and had it fail miserably.

The quests do run out btw. Unless you're compulsive, you won't find much of interest after level 50. Just those retarded pay-to-level quests. If you have a group of friends or a good guild you can run the high level content - but be prepared to spend money, either ingame or real, to get through that content in one piece.

it is possible to level without spending real money. Even as classes other than WF. However, it takes a lot of time and effort. Something most casual players will never put into this game I think, at least not once things start to slow down.

Even so, it wasn't the slow levelling that made me quit. It was the annoying crafting system which is designed to snub you and fail you probably deliberately - rather than give you a fair chance.

After I witnessed how ruthless the game is at extorting money, I immediatedly sobered up from my addictedness to the game. I was even in a nice guild but simply had to quit right away to keep my sanity and dignity.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying the new DDO soon :> Hopefully it'll be different.

I not only play PWI with a 5 year old computer, it's CELERON with the original onboard graphics card...  The ONLY time I lag is when running through a character crowded town area.   There are quite a few options that help this though, like turn off character names, turn off other nearby character graphics, turn off monsters on your map, and so on...

Hey Albos,

I recently download perfect world (again) because I wanted to verfiy that my memory was correct about how the game was/played. There were too many players indicating that PW was better in so many ways to Aion and I just didn't remember that being my impression at all.

the one thing I can say about it was there was no lag. At all. It ran beautifully. So I imagine that your lag is from another source.

Ive played perfect world for a bit now and its not too bad of a game. The community isnt help unless you join a faction (or guild or whatever the hell its called) They help out new players and usally answer all the noob questions you have. Performance wise, my pc has been able to handle it pretty well (2005 Laptop) with minimal lag outside the cities. Inside the cities, there is some lag, but nothing that im not use to. The grind gets pretty old though, just like all games and the quests are mainly for the lower levels. But its a fun game IMO,( kinda like a wow clone in some way?) but its good if you need an hour or so to burn. Like in every MMO though, you want results you have to put in the time. (AKA GRIND)

i have a lot of friends in PWI, we do dungeon runs, help others with quests and bosses, and do other fun stuff, i usually don't even notice the grind xD to me, levels are not important as long as i'm having fun... i don't want to be THE BEST. i think having fun with friends is more important in an MMO. sometimes we just sit for hours and talk :)

Well to the OP I can say that this is no longer true. The grind starts in the 60's now and it's only getting more quest oriented. While I probably will stop playing this game soon (3 9x's gets kinda boring) it was fun. I'm not a fan of the total reliance of cashshop that it has become, but if history tells I'll probably be back.

perfect world is the biggest joke of a game i have ever seen.  if you have any intention of getting involved in PVP you better be willing to shell out a minimum of $10k to be remotely competitive.

Does this game run in Vista now?   Earlier you needed the Chinese language pack in Ultimate for it work right.  Never going to upgrade my OS for a free game...
