I've been wanting to try the game again but the character models seriously annoyed me and i know they were going to update them in january(or was it Q1?) which seems like it didn't happen, so im wondering when exactly is the update going to hit live servers?

It's sometime in Q1.  The game studio just introduced a new engine at the end of 2009, and this is the next big project to be implemented.  So it's a matter of when it's ready.

At the moment, I think the models are fine (but I've been playing off and for a year and a half, so I'm used to them).  They also have a real charm of their own (female avatars are very modest).  And during the pvp, the graphics really cease to matter.

I'll post in this forum when the new models go live.

Word from the official forum moderator is March for the new models and other updates (dual-wield for Barbarians I think). 

Dual wielding barbarians should be fun, probably what i'll play ;)

Official, official word from the developers is end of March for new models on the test server, and early April for them on the live servers.

Oh sweet, thanks for keeping me updated! The character models seem to be coming along quite nicely eh, this is one of the games that is quite under appreciated so hopefully with these recent updates they get more players.

The models are live now and look great.  The animations make combat a lot smoother.  Some colours have been changed a bit, but there is quest you can get that gives you a premium item to change your appearance.

I had to turn my settings down some, though not sure if this was because of server load or if the models need more resources.

Thanks for the heads up! Downloading the patch right now and hopefully i enjoy the game now.

NGD new models do look nice :)

If you are trying the game for the first time, If theres lag understand that the Update is new and i beleive NGD will apply a hotfix in a day or 2 which will take away any random lag spikes :)

Regnum Online is really a Awesome Game if you like Straight up RvR
