At the moment its almost like a Beta, we are being encouraged to comment on and suggest changes to the new expansion. Though other than some tweaking here and there its looking pretty good so far, it's been well thought out and implemented.
All in all it's a good time to give it another look if your an old player. If you havent tried it before, its basically multiplayer "Elite", or the X-series for those too young to remember "Elite". The graphics are a bit dated now but you won't notice , as the flight model and combat are still the best around.
PS. There is a free 10, or maybe it's 7, day trial available, it will take around 5-10 hours to work yourself up to having enough money to get a decent combat/trading/mining ship and from then on the universe is you oyster.
If only they updated the graphics engine.
However, this may just be wishful thinking and I may be dead wrong... unsubstantiated optimism being one of my more annoying character traits
btw, is there a way to get ones european char over to the us server?
Happy Birthday Jumpgate :)
I lost a lot of interest of this game as soon as it started to no longer to become player drivin.
I think it is encouraging that they are still trying to something to this game. I have come back to this game after 3 years and I find myself ignoring my EVE and Vanguard icon's on my desktop and double clicking Jumpgate. Plain and simple its the only space game I have found that actually needs a player to do something besides clicking the mouse button. Fair enough the population has dropped. Even with 80 players in this universe it is better than 1000 madly clicking at skeletons, rats or whatever. The sub is cheap enough to enjoy it as a solo game regardless. Either way I will play it again because its fun. Deep down I think this game is an epic waiting to be picked up. Just needs a bit of updating / advertising and it would be huge.
