Cause if you lose your head & you give up then you neither live nor win, that''s just the way it is.

Hey all,

 

I just got the trial and I am having one heck of  a time trying to dock. Got everything else down, just can't seem to keep the ship level to dock.

Anyone got any tips or such to make this a little easier?

Docking is tricky, but simple.  Head toward the station, but not directly at it.  When you get close, docking rings should appear.  Head toward the center of the docking rings slow.  when you are almost there, flip your ship in the opposite direction and thrust a little to slow your ship.  While you are doing this, keep looking  behind you using the hat switch on your Joystick.  Once you are centered and stopped, point your ship directly at the center of the docking hanger (Its outlined in green dots)  if they are red dots, thats the take-off hanger and you will crash.

Proceed to the center of the docking hanger at around 30-50 speed.    Takes practice, but use the simulator off line and you will perfect it.

Also you need to have the station selected for the rings to appear.

I was doing it with a mouse, I bucked up and got a joystick and all is well now.

Thanks for the advice.
