They have already said the game will have a "mature" rating, but if they are not going to be selling this game in stores, and no one needs a credit-card to pay a monthly fee, then how are they going to make sure 8 year old kids aren't playing this game? It seems like anyone who wants to, and has broadband, will be able to play this. I seems like most age verification systems would be either really easy to get around, or an arduous process if underage. The main reason why I am concerned about this is that I do not want to see little kids playing this adult oriented game, and I don't want this to become another issue for the politicians to be concerned about.

Desalus , they will probably have a page that says "You must be 18 in order to enter this site". Sound familiar? Maybe you've seen that on a porn site. Thats what they will do to prevent kids from playing. Might not work and it probably wont. But hey, not there fault parents dont give a damn what there kids do. Politicians get involved in mmorpgs?that would be funny and it might help the genre expanned. But nothing bad will happen. They will not have any proof that its harmful because its really not. |

Ya, they will most likely have a page that comes up and asks for your date of birth, and after entering the site it will most likely warn you of Adult content. They will also have M for Mature rattings on the site. All these are most likely needed to comply with ESRB rating for the site. |

surely the simplest answer would to be charge 1 of which every curreny they are based on ( probably USD) in order to play i mean no one mines paying so little to make an accoutn and it would varify age, however those without credit cards i.e. me are screwed over again GRRRRRR

There is only one problem with that answer. The problem is that the game is going to be Free, so that means no charge for anything! |

I agree with Ludovico, the verification button is there so that the companies can protect themselves, whether an 8 year old gets to play the game or not despite warnings, it really up to the parents. If parents wants to let their kids play with games that have a mature rating and then complain about violence and sexual reference, then 1) they do not comprehend "Mature" 2) They are working for the gaming company and want to jam up the popularity |
