I got a virus when I downloaded this game from the official site, virus was in the game files and called obfustat.lly AVG caught it and deleted it. I then deleted the game. Yeah I know, AVG might have mistook something that wasn't a virus for a virus, but I do not care. I cannot afford to have virii/trojans on my system or anything that appears to be such. Here is what Acclaim games had to say about it: Hi, - Make sure other installations are not running. - Make sure other programs are not running. - Disable startup programs (using msconfig) 1) Click on 'Start' menu. (Left-bottom corner of your screen) 2) Go to 'Run'. 3) Type 'msconfig' without quotes and click on OK. 4) This will be your System Configuration Utility. 5) Click on the 'Services' tab. 6) Check on 'Hide all Microsoft Services', then click on 'Disable All'. 7) Now click on the 'Startup' tab and then click on 'Disable All'. 8) Click on 'Apply' and then 'Close'. 9) Restart your computer and launch the game. - Delete the contents of the temp folder. After rebooting and doing nothing else, go into your c:\documents and settings\(your user account)\local settings\temp folder and delete all the folders and files inside. - Make sure computer is clean (run Adware, Spybot, or other spyware scanner of choice) - Turn off Anti-Virus during install. Re-download the client and install again. Let me know if it helps Regards Jason 2moons support |

A bunch of anti viruses mistake gamegaurd for a virus. AVG, Norton, and McAfee.
It's not a virus. Just fyi. Same thing happens for some people on Rakion, as well as linage 2, as well as maplestory. I'm only stating those, since those are the most common, but a lot of anti viruses spot gameguard as a virus, although it isn't.
Now, if you got a virus from somewhere else, and it hid in that folder, or spread to that folder, then it might be a virus. But the gamegaurd itself is not a virus. |

Yeah I figured it wasn't REALLY a virus, called obfustat, as I could find no info on that "virus". But when you're system says "I've got a virus", it's not a pleasant feeling. I've had a lot of problems with virus's in the past and work hard to avoid that "threat found" message. Again, it was definatly downloaded from 2moons, and they know as they stated in their message. So irregardless if it's a real virus, people will still get a warning from their anti-virus system every time they scan. Many people are not that computer smart to do anything other than delete the file, like me. It's not worth taking chances over. Who am I to argue with AVG? AVG says its a virus. I have to trust AVG. So bye bye 2moons for me. And I never had this problem with Lineage II or with any other game. And I've been very disappointed with my communication on this issue with Acclaim games. |

Gameguard is malware and is as bad as StarForce malware. Do some research on it and you will see. It is difficult to remove also. They ruined any hope for this game from my perspective in using this crap. I refuse to participate with it. It's a simple world for complicated people- Sonicbrew |

I have scanned my computer several times, and I have scanned gameguard lots of times. With AVG, norton, and whatever else I had, but have still found nothing. I have also had gameguard on my computer for a long time, and have still not seen any harm done.
