Alright so they finally opened the closed beta service for everyone.

You need a gamengame account which can be acquired at http://www.gamengame.com/en/.

Then head to http://www.cabalonline.net/default.aspx?wbs=0.0, where you will have to fill out an application for the closed beta service. Once you get your confirmation e-mail (can take up to 48hours), download the client and thats it.

I am currently playing but so far the population seems pretty small, just trying to get the word out and see some more people in game.

Havent gotten an email back from that page yet (32h left of 48h "deadline").

Does this version use Gameguard? (Euro-beta uses GG & it BSOD:s me before I get into the game).

Seems pretty good so far, but withholding judgement until I play further. Graphics are nice (on my 7900GT), and the skills system seems pretty complete so far. Variety of classes and some player customization..hair, etc..But, some outfits look the same, and the quests are the "fetch me this" type so far.
But, hey it feels very Diablo 2, so I will try to look at it that ways instead of Full Blown MMO.

A couple of things to take into consideration, this is the same closed beta that was released in EU. The EU Cabal has now gone into open beta and soon to go p2p. The content that we get to see with the closed beta is somewhere around 10-20% of the actual content in the full version. Some things that will change as soon as it goes open beta will be a better camera view (you can actually view the sky), guild battles, and some other things you can find at http://forum.cabalonline.com/. This is the link for the EU version so dont post anything about any other version of Cabal there.

I don't think its for "everyone". My understanding is that only 150 players will be invited, many of them "potential investors", and the open beta will begin sometime in September. Assuming they find a publisher. So I wouldn't expect to see very many players for quite some time.

i got my acception letter this morning and i downloaded it and installed it and as soon as i find the game launcher icon ill be playing it

i found out how to launch the game now but how long does it take for the web launcher to start the game?

im trying to figure out whats going on with this game

i read the news section on the site and it said to click on the play cabal now button to play the game

i do and it pops up a little box asking me to log in i do and then another little box pops up and it has a little circle that keeps going round and round and thats all

am i doing something wrong or does it take forever to load the game

if i anyone who is in the game and playing can help me out i would greatly appreciate it

I have the same issue, I am assuming that the process of adding additional servers is taking longer. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, though, I mean, really~ now, isn't this par for the course ever since we got IP blocked from Euro?

Speaking of IP blocks, G&G are at it again: they are setting IP blocks on RanGS (also known as Ran Online Eng on the Malaysian boards) to keep all the Asian IPs out. It wil be NA+Euro only. This ban is scheduled to be implemented 14 August. I was looking forward to rubbing shoulders with some of the pros from across the other pond, but in the name of lag and English Only Customer Support  that shan't be the case now. Good show G&G. Yeh, we didn't want a load of people running amok in our servers saying incomprehensible words like 'liao', 'de', 'ma', and laughing with that ear-drum ripping cacophonus 'waaaakakakaka' and 'heeekekekeke'. i play a rouge named Shadowfyre

hopefully i can get into cabal today i have guild members waiting to hear what i think of it

i have been trying to get into this game via the web launcher

and all it still does is have me log in and then it shows a circle thats continually filling and emptying

and it just repeats itself and nothing else

i even left it runnning over night to see if it would load or do anything else and it didnt

It's a hoax, it's all a big April Fools sham concocted between CabalOnline.net and Game&Game.

Or maybe it was just a big conspiracy by CabalOnline.com to rid themselves of all us 'cross-the-ponders'.

Try posting on G&G and see if that gets anywhere. But be warned: you have to tread very very lightly, the Forum has some thin-skinned babies over there who can't handle Bostonian/New Yorker/British sarcasm. Seems my style of posting got me banned over there, so make sure to kiss everyone's a$$es when you post. It's ok to be lewd, crude,crass, and generally juvenile, but for Allah's sake don't speak out against the fanboiz over there.

To be honest, I'd say give up on it. Let Europe enjoy what might end up as a good game. I'm just biding my time till SUN and 9Dragons launch, dealing with the Gank-Squads on Last Chaos while waiting. Maybe I should pay up my overdue bill on FF11 and actually ENJOY myself again eh?
