Just got off work and head to Cabal's main forum and this is what I find XD
Good evening,
Over the last few days the issue over North Americans playing our service has been raised, and we therefore believe it is time to make a formal announcement. Games-Masters.com have the rights to the European English license, which does not include North America, this will be run by a separate company and not associated in any way with us. While North American players have been welcome to use our service and we have greatly appreciated your help , due to contractual obligations on Monday the 10th July, an IP block will prevent Canadian and United States players. Once again I would take this opportunity to thank all North American players for your help, you have been an asset to our community and it is a sad loss. We wish you the best of luck in the future and hope you enjoy CABAL with the American provider. Games-Masters.com Good evening,

There is a brand-spanking new CB getting set to launch on 10 July for NA IPs. If you are looking to enjoy a fabulous game then by all means register for it. The problem that many of us CB testers have isn't the game, it is the fact that we are a cosmopolitan people, we are a global people, we are PC people not XBOX-Live people, and we take extreme grievance for any kind of Regional Isolation. IP banning is UNACCEPTABLE to us and we have washed our hands of this title. We do not wish to IM and e-mail our friends in Holland, England, France, Germany, et. al.. WE WISH TO PLAY GAMES TOGETHER WITH THEM. Cheerio CO and thanks for the great times in CB.

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included. |

This is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous, I would never condone banning a region from a game. This company has REALLY struck out with me. I wont touch this title, perhaps Im not Euro enough. I hope Cabal fails miserably in north america, I never once complained about all the other countries and ethnicities playing the same MMO I am. Well perhaps now I will start.

Certainty of death. Small chance of success. What are we waiting for? |

Oh...isolating us with Americans! That is going to be sexy! Too bad, it is really your lost! We can entertain ourselves with the Americans, have no doubts! Tamalan, somehow I think you are missing the point. Several people over in the CO-CB forums are also missing the point. Let me remind you that we do NOT have to wait for the NA game. It is launching TOMORROW. SO obviously, that is NOT the point. We aren't irritated at 'having to wait 3 months till we get our client'. We aren't being vehemently vocal because we 'have to wait 3 months to get our client'. We are getting our CB client TOMORROW (10 July). What the ISSUE is, is that we are not allowed to continue gaming with our friends on the Mancunian server should we choose, nor are the Euros going to be given the choice to game on the NA servers, a la DAoC, PSO, etc. They are IP RESTRICTING the server access in order to protect a REGIONAL FRANCHISE SALES MODEL. XBOX-Live brats are used to being in an NA-only environment, so they generally could care f-all. However, I am assuming that most of the people inhabiting these forums are PC users and thus expect a greater freedom. Sure, one can go the proxy route, but the snag is that that is technically an illegal act. As far as the argument that Regional IP access is nothing new to Korean MMOs, so what who cares? If they want to carry on that practice over there that's their headache, we do not need to buy into it and we are telling them clearly that we are not buying into it. If the Koreans wish to isolate markets in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and PRC, then so be it. They need to understand, however, that the West are not very keen on that tactic and will reject it out of hand. Nuff said. On a side note: can a person access WoW:PRC from NA IPs? I don't play that game so I don't know the answer. Anyone know? |

If someone wouldn't mind, could you please post who and when the NA client will be starting??? I was playing in the Closed Beta and was very upset that they chose to ban US/Canada players for Open Beta, especially since I had already been excepted into the Open Beta per their registration requirements until this little snafoo about a US company having rights to it. Anyway, I would like to know when the new US version will start so that I can play again. I just hope that the US company who has this game will be as efficiant as the Europians I was having a good time in their game and hope it will continue when I play the US version. Thx. EDMorgan |

Plain and simple, they knew this was coming the whole time. they used the North American and Canadian beta testers to pump up their beta numbers. Fortunately, I wasn't at all impressed with the beta and therefore will not find it hard to stay away from the U.S. version. For those of you who actually liked this game, I am sorry they pulled this on you. Let the freakin' thing die over here and maybe they'll get the message.

Hello, This is Jiny Bae, Manager - Overseas business of CABAL
>I've got your email regarding IP blocking issue and I felt that I am obligated to reply you what is the fact. > >CABAL service in europe were supposed to be provide only in europe territory. >We've been asked to provide this service to everyone for a short period, >because selecting only european as testers were not possible at the application stage. >We are now blocking non-european IPs (not only NA) from CABAL service in europe and this must be done in legal reason. >I hope you could understand that we are doing this in order to provide better service to you. >We are looking for the best partner for NA market as well as others. > >In addition, we are providing global service of CABAL (in english) for business purpose at www.cabalonline.net <BLOCKED::http://www.cabalonline.net> . >There is no limitation of IP but we are selecting testers based on their application. >This global service is for business purpose therefor if you are at one of following position, you can apply. > >- Opinion leader of gaming community/forum >- Reviewer of gaming site >- Journalist >- Publisher/Distributor > >We will try to start CABAL service for NA gamers as soon as we can. > > >Regards, >Jiny rofl you have to be kidding me lure us in like that its just laughable and then they just IP banned almost the entire globe when it was supposed to just be non euros. |

I guess not LOL The admin for this title just posted on that game and game site that this beta is in fact for investors only. This closed investor beta is going to run until September! LOL Oh well, it WAS a pretty cool game. Too bad its gonna be smothered by all the big titles launching later this year. |

So has there been any news yet concerning a NA public beta(closed or open) because I was really hoping to get the chance to try out this game. It sounds good in theory and I just wanted to see how it plays out.

Well, I tried to connect behind a proxy, and I think they could fix this problem. Anyway, I don't feel like playing on a game that can feel free to exclude a whole part of the World MMORPG's community. Maybe it's not the servers provider fault, but, for sure, it's the developer's one. So, sorry, but I don't feel like making them bugs reports and else when I can see such a putifull behavior, only for a question of dollars. Regards, Xanh |

Looking back, I notice a couple of posters quoted a couple comments of mine, and managed to miss my point in the process. Manmadegod and Xanh both exemplify what I was trying to get across. Someone was nit-picking about my statement about the 'd/l being aviailable tomorrow' versus 'registering for the beta'. No-one cares f-all about those semantics, least being myself. The POINT was this: no-one is interested in supporting an IP-banning isolationist MMO. MMG and Xanh both reiterated that salient point. Globalisation not Isolation. Once again, 'nuff said'. |
