Impressive landscapes? Definitely.
Up to par with their other videos? Sure.
Contains anything even remotely innovative, enthralling or inspiring? Not really.
As good as this is, it's really not very enthusiasm-inducing. I found myself raising an eyebrow about a third of the way through, thinking "Another landscape glide. Great." while resisting yawning and clicking the 'stop' button.
War torn region? Is that referring to the two bored-looking guards? (whose idle-animations match any half-decent MMO out there, to date). The smattering of undead I saw, looked like they'd been pulled from CoH's hallowe'en events. "War-torn" is not even in the top-5 things that went through my head as I watched all the boring shiny zip past.
The one bit that caught my attention? The animation of the "arcane snake" (or whatever it's intended to be). Made me go "oooh! neat!"
If NCsoft really want to impress me? They're going to have to start showing some decent game-play videos; 'cause as Funcom have already proven: shiny doesn't guarantee success... and all I've seen of Aion is 'shiny.'
At the very least, I suppose NCsoft deserves congratulation: they're the first, in quite some time, to get me to the point I'm bored of shiny. Unfortunately, that's most definitely NOT a good thing.
Final opinion: *yawn* :(

One thing I've noticed from watching this and the other videos: Aion breaks one of the most common "rules" of game design by making each zone extremely diverse.
EQ2, WoW, LotRO, AoC, WAR... All the other MMO's I've played have a very homogenous theme throughout each zone. For example, in WoW all of Westfall is a coastal farming community. All of Duskwood is a creepy forest. In EQ2, all of Nektulos Forest is a creepy forest. I could do the same with every MMO.
Aion shows an unprecedented amount of diversity within each zone. The nice thing about that is that it means you're not likely to get bored with the scenery before you run out of quests in a particular area. Hopefully game play itself won't be boring or (as AoC showed) the scenery won't matter. But I for one am happy to see a company taking this new direction.

Another gorgeous video; I love the various creatures moving about, and have seen so much of this in the videos that my expectations continue to rise. I hope that the creatures in every area show that much complexity of movement. I'm rather excited about exploring those ships, too.
Regarding the graphics -- LotRO founder here, and to me, BOTH games have wonderful graphics. LotRO is certainly the most beautiful and detailed of realistic styles, while Aion is its equivalent in the "fantastical" style. I can't feel a real preference for either, but I do feel strongly that each is the best of its type at this point.

Nice graphics, but sheesh, every music clip I hear from this game grates on my ears. This clip was no better, psuedo-Indian with a horrendous combination of ill-matched instruments. Really awful music IMO. The only way I'd even touch this game is if they make sure there's a Mute Background music option.

not bad, the graphics are nice and the character mods i have seen in other vids are quite nice. My problem is why do most of the MMO's today look like WoW? Don't get me wrong the graphics are better but looks like nothing more than an upgraded WoW universe.

I see this game as growing in beauty and grace. The more I see, the more the cost well be to play. Everyone is looking for a great game and this is it. The Shorts that we are given are but a tease to the ego of our Id. I hope that they keep all that we have seen.
