I played this game at release up until 35. I quit for a lot of reasons. Crafting was extremelly grindy (Especially flying around gathering), leveling got super slow, dungeons took forever to find a group, Abyss never had any fair fights (Just ganking from high levels)...

This game has gone through a TON of patches.

1.) Did they make grouping for dungeons easier? Maybe like a cross server queue like WoW?

2.) Did they make harvesting the material in the sky easier or crafting in general?

3.) I saw pets in the Aion tore, can you obtain pets without real money that do stuff like pick up items or is that cash only?

4.) Is the game balanced at higher levels? Or is there usually a cookie-cutter class that kills all? (I plan on being a chanter if I play)

1. No.

2. No.

3. You can get a item collector pet from doing an instance.

4. Chanters are one of the weakest classes right now, with imba gear they still can get their share of kills. They get boosted in 3.0. If you look for OPness, I suggest playing a sorc. CC, high survivability, range, sick damage. In 3.0 they get a skill to one shot most players.

not like wow, but its easy to get party when game goes F2P

It is as it always was, not easy but far away from hard, major problem its those nasty recipes

you can get lots of pets doing daily's or instances, by collecting coins or marks and exchanging later

Chanter its a very nice class - class of buffs, its my favorite and if you have skill, you can deal with almost every class out there, even those nasty sorcerers
and you have your mantra of speed sooner in the game that makes you faster
