The only skill required in Aion is learning how to go to a hacking site and download the hacking mods for Aion (radar hack, animaion speed hack, glide hack, stealth hack, etc). You will then roflstomp any legit players who will complain to NCwest about you. Dont worry though, it will be months before they ever actually ban you, assuming your one of the unlucky minority of hackers in game that actually get banned (maybe 5% of hackers). And even if they do ban you, thanks to those hacks, youll have a fully geared out lvl 55 again within a month and can just go back to griefing other players. If you dont hack then you will be at the mercy of said hackers everytime you enter any pvp areas. You can submit screenshots of blatant hacking but a screenshot rarely actually illustrates it. If you send in a fraps video of them hacking, it will be ignored as they only look at screenshots. And if you post either screenshots or links to your fraps vid of hackers on the official forum, it will be you getting penalized for making it public on there forums rather than giving them the information, which of course they will do nothing with. Frankly, i would never want to go back to any game where hacking is rewarded over legitimate play by those that run the game even if it is F2P. |

Aion was awful, the game was bad enough but it was the people running the show that really made the whole rather rotten, as mentioned before the hacking was terrible, the response was lacklustre at best, the game had no depth it was just all pretty pictures and no substance, and the graphics were not all that good once you looked around a bit harder. Its going FTP because it failed, and failed hard more by management issues but lack of depth certainly didnt help, you can check all my previous post and ive never used the following word ever to describe my feelings on a game, so here is a first. IT SUCKED, and failed. Currently Subbed EVE, thats it after years off MMO play I am reduced to one sub due to the massive levels of CRAP in the market. |

I will, I liked gliding around. So much so, that even after i put it down and move on, I am continually trying to glide in other games by jumping and holding the spacear off of ledges...it doesn't go well... Frank 'Spankybus' Mignone |

Originally posted by lordathon Level grind is a cake compared to end game gear grind, and I'm talking about the original exp rates when the game is released. So even if they made it super easy to get to 55 now, you'll still tear your hair out from the gear grind. |

I see no reason to single out this one title when hacks are rampant all through online competitive gaming. Even SWTOR already has proven working speed and TP hacks. I personally think it's a pathetic way to 'win' and an admission that they can't any other way, but even I see that cheats and assholes go hand in hand with this genre. If they bothered me deeply I wouldn't play any online game against random internet 'l337s'. |

Originally posted by xenogias The irony, its just what you should have thought of your own rambling, if you where less clueless or less wilfully ignorant. Dont delude yourself. Rift has proven it doesnt hold a candle to Aion on the long run. You may hate Aion all you want doesnt change the "facts". Rift was released 1.5 years after Aion and its barely floating around Aions numbers today (if at all, that just generous optimism). Half of Rifts remaining server can be called dead without any exaggeration or being informal. These Riftserver in terms of population are in the same category as Super Mario Cart and Smashbrothers and the remaining mostly arent much better. These make Aions testserver look heavily populated. Even with the benefits as a domestic game, with greater hype and advertisement, even with all the incentives thowing the game to the players feet for almost free even completely free clients to grasp for new player. After half a year they just keep copy pasting their contents and already appear to run out of leftover stock from developementphase. When Rift hits 1 year it will wish to be at the point Aion was after 1 year (actually it already does now), it would even wish to be at the point Aion was right at its 2nd year, it would probably even wish to be at the spot Aion is right now. While Aion stabilized around a steady playbase Rift just nosedived and continues to tank. The F2P move will easily leave Rift and the others in the dust. Sound like ignorance makes the hater blind of the "facts" L2 was turned into F2P to increase profits with greater promotion of cashshop and opportunity sales. The cashshop promotion and build up turned into a massive success almost doubling their revenues of L1 in the multitenmillion range per quarter and thats to only "fact" in this matter. Not your assumptions and opinions. And that "fact" reflects a trend all the big fishes noticed and recognized, even Blizzard with rising suspision of WoW moving into F2P direction even by fans. Its part of their official policy and they ogle over it with all their games. This obviously and proved not to work very well with full subscription games. The trigger to change L2 to F2P was to "reboot" an age old highly potential game (close to Rift, oh irony) not to "rescue" it like desprate western games did to exploit the shortlived P2Win potential of the cashshops and giving the F2P a bad name in first place just like Rift will soon do either. (L1 was the one closed because it was improfitable, for a foreign release, majorly due to the fact its a foreign decade old game.) The irony in face of your ignorant statements: The F2P move boosted even age old L2 back close to Rift even on the long run. It easily surpassed it at launch. Stick to your own words when you preach them to others. Next time try to make atleast some sense and show less ingorance over matters you prove not to understand or unwilling to. Nielsen game ratings - Jan 2012 Top-Games: World of Warcraft played 2x more than LOL; WoW played 6 times more than Aion |

right now Aion its still the only mmo interesting to play, but in my way as free cause mmo's are failing heavy on demand, they are just paste copy standards , one day its rift (woW clone), next its KOTOR( WoW clone with sabers..) paying subscription to play xit its not more working for me, but if WOW, KOTOR, RIFT and AION goes free my choice its AION as first and lone answer. the others 3 i really have no kind of interest to put my hands on then again. |

I will probably not be revisiting this game. I like consensual pvp where I can flag when I want, and not when I don't.
The F2P convesion with LotRO really left a bad taste in my mouth with Freemium payment models. I"m happy with my P2P game and don't have any plans on trying any freemium conversions.
I do think Aion is a great game and I hope they have great success with this. |

I would give it a try only IF it DOESN'T put out a cash shop/boutique/item mall that gives out power ups/leveling items/manastones/etc. which I doubt they wouldn't do that. The game will DEFINITELY become PAY TO WIN if it goes Free to Play. AION is great, I began playing the NA AION around mid-November. I would suggest purchasing a cheap version of the game over amazon. :) Although, having said that just by looking over the "features" of the EU F2P, http://www.aionfreetoplay.com/website/features/ and http://www.aionfreetoplay.com/website/featuresdetails/ , it is quite unfair for those who cannot pay for the "Gold" package having to get the instance cooldowns, etc. I would still stick with the subscription. Nope. I'll never play that game again. I got hacked when I was visiting my daughter in the hospital as she gave birth to my first Grandchild in 2009. All of my passwords and secret questions with answers had been copied by the hacker from my computer and then deleted. Of all the MMORPGs that I played at the time, Aion had the absolute worst policy I had come across. First they banned my husband's account when he contacted in-game support to report the hacking (he literally was following one of my hacked characters around as it botted its way through mobs in the game). Then they let him back in, but refused to acknowledge the hacking. So I called them up. If I recall correctly, it was not a toll-free number. I waited a long time, long distance to talk to a representative. Once I got a representative, I was told that using the game code printed on my purchased game was NOT sufficient to establish that it was indeed my account. I must be able to produce the answer to the secret question which had been deleted by the hacker from my computer. I could not even cancel my account. If you ever run across a character named either Ardenwine or Ruejacobs spamming kineh, they are two of the hacked toons I'd had in the account. Report the hell out of them, I don't care.

Well, all happened under NCsoft... the F2P will be under Gameforge. I get that you are into EQ2 these days, and that a situation like this leaves a bad bad taste in the mouth, but boycotting one company for the seemingly harsh policies of another seems misguided. But I guess we won't be seeing you in GW2 then? :P |
