So I already have the copy. I tried the trial too, I was able to play for 20 minutes. Graphics were 7/10. I also have FFXIV. I think I'm just looking to explore, check the world out. I loged into FFXIV, it felt as if I was the only one in the world. Aion gives me the impression that I would get to travel, the quests would hold my hand and show me the world. Don't get this feeling in XIV. Anyways, just wondering if it's a good idea to burn $15 and just play for another 10 minutes ><

Until you open your mouth people can only guess at how stupid you are...

I played Aion for a good bit at launch, and then came back and played again about a year after launch for a little while. It is a very solid, pretty (though some people dislike the art style) themepark game.

Personally, I believe it to be worth the monthly fee, as it has several interesting facets, and with a good guild/group, can be very entertaining as there is lots to do at almost every level and the gameworld is fairly expansive.

However, both times ive played, ive gotten bored with it due to quest gaps where you go a level or two having to grind out xp on mobs (though i have read that this has been fixed to a certain extent).

The solo dungeons they added were a nice touch. Enjoyed them a great deal on my second time playing.

add my vote to those saying yes, it's worth the fee.

especially if you like the korean stylised art (which is not really my thing but it's growing on me).  I also like the trippy settings, they remind me of a really, really well done zangarmarsh.  or possibly a grateful dead album cover, only with korean angels instead of dancing bears...

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Currently Playing EQ2, TERA
Liked but retired: EQ1,SWTOR, FFXI, WoW, POTBS, Aion, L2, Eve, Rift, atlantica, Darkfall, though i felt it needed tweaks
Looking forward to: World of Darkness, TERA, Gw2, Titan

Recommendation of a game you probably haven't tried: POTBS, Atlantica, L2

I'd strongly advise to save the money. You can go exploring in other games like Minecraft (?) and Elder Scrolls. Games that don't cost a subscription. Everything that an MMORPG is can be done in another game. The only thing MMOs bring to the table is potentially community.

Id say play the trial some more and see if your enjoying yourself, then if so go ahead and sub.

I'm very much an explorer type too, and i love exploring the world of Aion, its so beautiful and otherworldly, theres nothing else like it.  The themepark nature does take you through the game world but there are also some places that you can discover yourself if you head out of the way a little.  One thing worth mentioning that of course Aion is a PVP focussed game so in most areas after lvl 20 you will be vulnerable to PVP.  I actually like PVP so this isn't such an issue to me and it sometimes makes exploring a little more dangerous and exciting, but i know PVP can turn some people off.

As a bit of an explorer the things that i like about Aion are the little details such as when the creatures and such sometimes can be seen fighting each other.

Als everythings extremely well animated, everything fits right in, nothing seems out of place.  I quite like how the docile creatures might wander upto you and actually move their heads as if they are looking at you.

Aion introduces the best feature in the last years to the genre its mentor system, that way you level faster , you get kinah and gear easy xp , you can make dificult quests (elite zones), and high levels are always ready to help cause they can get very nice rewards too, this is the best change from all ( i think )

You can continue to play cause you will have always nice things to do

They didn't introduces mentoring to the genre. Mentoring is a great feature but it's been around for years.

In my opinion fifteen dollars for a month for a game isn't much to pay. If you decide you like it then keep playing, otherwise just cancel the subscription. You walk away with only fifteen dollars less and knowledge over the style of MMO's that you enjoy so you know what is really worth that fifteen dollars a month to you.
