I have 39 minutes left in queue for the server I wanted to play on.  Damn, I should be whining about that, shouldn't I? :)

They will most likely in the end give a few free days and all will be forgiven. They are banking on your apathy, plain and simple. It's like waiting for a bus, no matter how angry you get that it's late, once it's there you just get on and huff about it a bit.

First and foremost, given the numbers in open beta and the number of pre-orders they should have been more adequately prepared for the head start.

Second, there is no way in hell this issue was a surprise. It is a simple numbers game so they could have provided some fore-warning that queues might be an issue. Heck they even did a survey about servers so they have the knowledge.

Third, offer some form of communication with the playerbase besides Twitter and keep us updated on - a) why this is happening?; B) what is being done about it?; and C) will it get better?

That would be nice for starters.

"more adequately prepared"?  Explain that for me.  They should have prepared a special headstart for your guild only?  Is that what you're referring to?  And fore-warning that queues might be an issue?  Did you really not know that for yourself?  Seriously?

And the survey was for YOUR knowledge, so you would know what other players were going to be doing.  They actually did that to help avoid issues like this.

Offer something other than twitter.. lol They offer communication, just not in the precise form you want. lol

So, here you have answered, and yet given us nothing but more proof that there's nothing that could have been done to please you.

You're probably the type of guy that gets the wrong size pants/shirt and doesn't return them because you feel it was your fault.

When you pay money for something you should get what you are entitled to and queues in head start are ridiculous. Servers need to be added yes, but the control of the population is what is needed to be done and should have been done during pre-selection. If you want to kiss ncSoft's ass go for it but don't say it isn't their fault cause it's 100% their fault.

Queues in a head start? never seen it. NEVER have seen it. Sorry I just don't expect queues in a head start especially of this magnitude.

Should have been for NCSoft.....but I guess it wasn't.

When people like you refuse to switch servers, what else could they do?  Oh, yah, nothing.  That's the simple little fact all of you whiners are ignoring.  YOU are causing the problem.  The solution doesn't involve whiping your ass for you, so you're not satisfied.

That's a lose<>lose proposition.  They're never going to hit it exactly but a whole bunch of people will end up on nearly empty servers in a few weeks if they don't take the time to calibrate the loads correctly. Mostly this is the result of everyone who can  trying to log in at once. A week or so after launch the overcrowding will subside.

 

BS,  If they want to start billing in a couple weeks when things settle down then that is a fine approach, otherwise they are taking money and not providing the service contracted for and that is unacceptable. 

 

Just to keep this framed, we are not talking about 15 or 20 minute queues but queues of hours and hours and queues that even after waiting for several hours are still climbing.  It is a horrific mess and one made entirely of NCsofts incompetence or lack of concern for its customers.

I'm always amazed that people think everyone who has the good sense not to immediately get out the tar and feathers is a mindless fanboy. Here's a clue. Not being a total moron I don't preorder games and I don't play the first few days after launch for any game. Especially not for ones I have no intention of buying at all. I guess not buying a game makes me a fanboy huh? Quit your crying and wait.  You're not helping anything least of all yourself.  It's Sunday night in case you haven't noticed and it may take them a bit to get a handle on it..

For the last god damn time, the population of the servers should have been regulated during pre-selection, there should be no reason for every server to hit high status on head start. If population was more than the server count they had they should have opened more, not just fuck the customer and throw up queues. Stop being a god damn moron and open your eyes.

Why should I be MADE to switch servers when the whole point of the character creation part was to reserve your names on the server I WANT to play. Kinda silly to me to allow us to do that only to EXPECT us to switch servers due to queues.

I have pre-ordered many and never seen any queues much less queues of 2800 people.

I have had the same method since I started playing.

I pre-order (if its a game I really want), and play until I am basically exhausted until launch day. Then I leave the game sitting for a few days for the company to get all of the launch days issue sorted out. And then I come bac.It has served me well for years and never run into issues like this on or during a head start.
